I recently moved into Briar Cove and have had a very positive experience thus far. The duration of the process from application to lease-signing took longer than expected since there were a couple of staff members at the office involved, which seems to have caused some delays and required frequent follow up to expedite things on my rather tight timeframe. However, since that hurdle things have been outstanding. The leasing office manager Andrea has been extremely pleasant to work with and has been a great help as I got settled. She was kind enough to go out of her way well after office hours to get me my keys on a Saturday night so I could get into my apartment after an unexpectedly long moving day from the east coast. She also recently switched my carport to one much closer to my front door after the space became available. The apartment was clean and in great condition upon move in. I had a handful of minor maintenance requests that I gave to Andrea upon move-in, and the maintenance staff tended to all of them the very next day. The location of Briar Cove is excellent- close to several major shopping centers, restaurants, I-94, and other conveniences. I am pleased with my decision to live here and look forward to life in this community.
I've been very happy here. With the exception of a drafty doorwall, the insulation is fine, and there are sliding storm windows over all other windows to keep the draft out in winter. My neighbors have been wonderful. I've had no issues with maintenance - in fact, last winter I had knee surgery. One morning I had a doctor's appointment, and woke up to find snow all over the steps and sidewalks, making it very difficult to get to the car of my friend that was driving me. One call to management, and they immediately came to shovel. The storage is phenomenal! I moved from a huge condo to a 2-bedroom, 2-bath unit here, and every single thing I moved found a place to be stored. The layout is beautiful - more like a home than an apartment. I have zero complaints!
Parking is very tight in this apartment and I mean it in two ways. One, it's hard to find space and two, the parking spaces are too small. Management acts aloof all the time but the maintenance guys are very nice and kind especially the slightly chubby guy (don't know his name). The apartment itself is okay but a bit too small. Our carpet was really old and it would have been nice if they remodeled it before we moved in. Rent is pretty high but the same can be said for most places in Ann Arbor anyway. Overall, it's an okay place but I can't wait to move out once I'm done with school.
I've lived at Briar Cove for years, I moved out when I purchased a home this past summer. I have no complaints, maintenance was knowledgeable, and the office staff was friendly!
Worst apartment management you'll find. They never resolved an issue without us having to email corporate. It was a constant battle the entire year we lived there. And they had the worst windows and our energy bills were more than any home we've ever owned. The pool is nice, the maintenance guys are really cool, but the people in the front office are terrible, indifferent and not worth your time or money. Renters BEWARE!
