First let me just say I think the price is worth the experience and I don't feel cheated by anything that I didn't agree to in the first place (late fees from late rent, etc.). I lived here by myself for 2 years in a 1-bedroom apartment. I paid $640 a month including utilities the first year, and $680 the second. I was told these prices were because of my "good timing" and getting a deal at the right time when prices were low. "The same apartment you have is running for $800 now" was what Stephanie told me. I believed them until I found out my neighbor was getting the same deal, but I didn't think the price was unfair so I didn't argue. The kitchen appliances worked, but I will be glad to have some updated units when I find somewhere nicer but likely more expensive. I felt safe and at home here. The area is very safe. The trees were beautiful and there are a lot of Indian people who are courteous and quiet. I appreciated the staff's sympathy and willingness to work with me during times I was late on rent or needed the price lowered the second year (it was supposed to hike up $50 instead they made it only $20). Maintenance was always quick and effective. I would recommend this to anyone except those who can't stand a bad entryway from the road into the apartment complex. There is not a legal way to turn left out of the front of the complex, have fun with that :-)
It is true about the management and maintaincr. They try everything possible to save a buck before replacing items even as small a showerhead. They allow sprinklers to run when the weather drops 30 below at night in the winter and residents are welcomed with an iced parking lot the next morning. Very unorganized office staff. If you live in the 2nd or 1st levels good luck with them helping enforcing the noise level from residents above you. Also beware of ppl entering your apartment when you are gone on purpose even when you request not to its still done for non emergency requests. The person that does it is named doug.
I lived there for 2 yrs and was barely there upon leaving they stuck me with a 257 dollar bill for cleaning all kinds of things that were perfectly clean when I left the apartment. Also, they lost a very important package in the front office which made my miss a deadline at work. The place is unorganized and poorly managed.
