I've lived here for 11 months. BUGS. I have asked for my dishwasher to be fixed 12 times in 11 months. NOTHING has been done. I have asked for a door in my bathroom to be fixed 8 times. Someone finally came to look at it the last time I asked and promised me a new door the next day. This was a month ago and NOTHING has been done. Last month they lost my rent check and sent a notice for me to move out. I paid rent on time and gave them a copy of the bank transaction, the next day I got a call threatening to make me move out because I hadn't paid rent yet???? REALLY??? Trash all over the place all of the time. People hanging out in the parking lot all hours of the day. Not enough parking and my husband had to park across the street at the mall several times. If you like living like this... go ahead. Not me. I'm out of here!
We relocated from Philadelphia, PA due to a fantastic work opportunity. I was told Plano was the place to live because of the beautiful city. I do want to say that Veronica was totally AWESOME. While she was working here, any maintenance request we put it, our needs were meet and fixed. However, every since she left (wish she was still here) we can't get anything fixed in a timely manner, hot water is limited and ALWAYS being fixed. They are allowing unsavory people move in. Today as I was coming home from work I saw a crack head walking into the complex. How I know it was a crack head...living up North you're prone see those kind of individuals. Second, the community is become a bit Ghetto.... Trash is not picked up properly (and we are paying for it). The buildings need to be torn down and redone. A total mess. When we renews our lease it was not good but now it's worst. Our plan was to stay here till we buy a house...however, that's will no longer happen. I'm going to contact the CORPORATE office (owner of Oaks Of Collin Creek) to discuss my lease and talk about breaking the lease and other options. I will tell you we will not renew lease next June. I would not recommend this community to anyone. This is the ghetto of Plano.
VERONICA DENMAN: I think you have portrayed the attitude of the property management quite well - "it's not the staff's fault the place is a dump and falling apart". I think code enforcement begs to differ, considering the damage is structural and has obviously been present since before I moved in. FYI - it's not slander if it's true. Please refer to a dictionary. As far as my attitude, I only give what I receive. Interesting, that people who don't claim that they are (and I quote) "proud to be ghetto" get along with me just fine. Something to consider in your future endeavors. And I would say it is the criminal element you all allowed to move in that made it worse. I don't personally have a criminal record...not sure I can say the same for you though. Thank you for the good wishes in moving! I am leaving this weekend, and moving onto a property that is twice the size of the entire apartment complex. STAY AWAY!!! I moved in Feb of 2014, and stayed my lease. I'm actively looking for a house, so I didn't want to renew or get into a contract elsewhere. I was told BY GEORGIA (the manager that everyone agrees is terrible to deal with) that my month-to-month total cost would only increase by $100. Then comes the letter stating that I owe more money. When I call (on Saturday, March 7th 2015), VERONICA looked at my account and stated "I see you paid $1025, I'm not sure what that charge is for. Call back on Monday". So I called back on Monday. GEORGIA answers the phone, "oh, it looks like the property manager put it in wrong. Let me grab your file". Then, the manager gets on the phone....starts trying to twist around my "notice letter", saying that I volunteered a higher rent?? Um no - I specifically stated that the TOTAL amount due monthly would be $1025. Fast forward to Tuesday, March 10th 2015. I walk in and request to review my ORIGINAL, WET SIGNATURE lease (they alter them before printing btw). Nothing in the lease specifies an amount of increase when going month to month. When I point that out and ask for something in writing, GEORGIA YANKS the folder out of my hand and FOUR PEOPLE start yelling at me. I was then told BY VERONICA (who says she's proud of being ghetto) "why don't you step outside so I can show you how ghetto I can be". I had to call the police to get to get my lease and documents. It is then they decide to hand a document over (that they claim they put in the mail box but I never actually received) that shows the rent is actually higher than what they're trying to collect, and doesn't make ANY sense. Now, lets get into all the things they refuse to fix: leaking central air (I have wet electrical wires in my ceiling), toilet won't flush, refrigerator doesn't work (can't keep milk for more than a day), stove has caught fire - TWICE, no keyless bolt OR peephole in the front door, moldy carpet from the leaking central air....all in all, the place needs to be condemned. Thank god I have a cat, or the roaches would be OUT OF CONTROL (and yes, I keep a clean house) - no pest control has EVER been performed. Here's to hoping my car isn't towed out of retaliation, like I've seen them do with other tenants.
These are the worst ever apartments i have ever seen in my life. These apartments are deserved to be in African forests or Afghanistan desserts. AC water Leaking, house full of cockroaches, roof leaking, sink leaking, no hot water. These are the very few problems of all the existing problems. The management never cares about people or complaints. All they need is money. File a complaint 10 times, the repair guy comes at 11th time and that too for useless. They don't even let u go if u wanna leave. They will blackmail you that they will screw up your credit and scare you about giving worst feedback to the further apartments. If you wanna live, please don't come to THE OAKS OF COLLIN CREEK. I'm feeling bad to give one rating because there are no negative ratings available.
Not the worst place but definitely not a good place to live. I have been here for 5 months and it's been awful. The maintenance guy is probably the worst at his job. We have been nothing but nice to him and all he does is complain and act upset when he comes over to fix what ever is broken. He also does a horrible job at fixing things. We had an issue with our sink and all he did was stick a vacuum in it and called it a day. It didn't fix anything. We didn't even have our sink clogged. We always have problems with our water pressure. It is very hard to wash dishes with a tiny stream of water coming out. We don't want to call the maintenance guy every time it happens because it happens A LOT. We also just don't want him over anymore because of how bad at his job he is, how unpleasant he and how RUDE he is every time he's over. The showers here are a joke. At first we had water pressure issues and it took the maintenance guy 3 times to fix it properly. Also the water is either extremely hot or extremely cold and it takes a lot of patience and effort to get it to the temperature you want. The parking here is ridiculous. I really don't know what the point of the guest parking is here. They don't even ask about your car information when you get an apartment. There's no rules about guest parking or at least they certainly don't enforce it so there is probably people staying here who aren't on the lease and there is absolutely NO where to park. We have had to park across the street a couple of times because we just could not find a place to park in the whole damn complex. They do have cover parking but that's $25 a month. These apartments are so shitty that I don't want to give these people any more money than I have to. It is also very sketchy in this neighborhood. I do not feel safe here which is sad because Plano is one of the safest cities. Most of the neighbors leave their dogs out all day and you hear them barking most of the time and they ALWAYS play loud music at night so you can't sleep at all. It would be different if I was talking about one neighbor but I'm talking about many neighbors. We have had run ins with pests. There are a lot of cockroaches and gnats and they refuse to do anything about it. We set roach traps and gnat traps everywhere and that seemed to do the trick. The only thing I like about this place is the layout of the apartment. It has upstairs and down stairs which is nice and spacious. They also have mailboxes in front of each apartment. You have your mail delivered to your door which is nice. Also I haven't had a bad experience with the ladies in the office. They have always been nice and friendly when I see them. I would not recommend this place to anyone. There is so much hassle that you have to go through after you get your apartment and so much fixing up that you have to do that it just isn't worth it.
