Just recently decided to move out, should've only signed a 6 month lease instead of a year. A lot of crazy stuff happens here. People stealing tires and vandalizing peoples cars. Someone lit a car on fire last week right across from my building, not cool. Seen drug deals in broad daylight. Just not safe. The apartment itself is very nice, the pond outside my balcony is amazing. Listening to the fountain in the spring/summer/fall is awesome. The geese and ducks are wonderful, annoying at times but love hearing them, good feeling. No complaints on that end just not safe to me. People constantly driving super fast through there at night, someone is going to end up in a lower level apartment building if not careful. I've never had an issue with staff, neighbors yes. Noisy, my apartment always smells like weed and I don't even smoke. Complained about that once and was told to call when it smelled like it. Parking is a nightmare. First come, first serve is not fair to the people that actually live there. People are very inconsiderate that is for sure.
I really don't get all of the negative reviews. I mean, it's a cheap apartment in the city so yes, there are going to be residents that you may not like and staff you don't like as well. But as far as the actual units and grounds goes, I love it. Maintenance is constantly out keeping the grounds clean and any time I've had problems they were here within a day or two. The main reason I moved here was the view. Can't really beat having a pond and fountain outside my back door. Don't mind all of the wildlife either. It's like my little piece of the country right across the street from the Westland Mall. So all in all, I'm giving a positive review for the Landings Apartments. People are just too damn sensitive/spoiled nowadays complaining about every little thing.
GOD AWFUL!!!! this place is horrible for any sort of service and the appliances are out dated and break constantly. I lived there for only a year and i could not get out sooner. They charge SOOOOO much when you try and leave and charge you for the previous tenants stains on the carpet, then charge you for that same stain they didn't take care of when you leave. EVEN IF YOU NOTE IT!!! normal wear and teat is unacceptable and they will take money from you and just tell you to walk away. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!
We have lived here for a year now and our experience has been nothing short of wonderful. The groundswork and upkeep of the property is great. We enjoy the beautiful scenery and quiet community. The staff is welcoming and they show their tenants appreciation by throwing holiday celebrations, such as the summer pool party and Halloween party. The pool is nice and clean and never overcrowded. Shopping, dining and even places for recreational activities are within walking distance. This is a quiet community without high traffic all year-round. We have never had a problem with maintenance even after hours, not only is it affordable they treat you like family. I like the setup of my apartment and the way my balcony overlooks the pond and beautful view. The AC and heat work without a doubt. I have read reviews and I dont agree with alot of it. I love it here!
The Landings is just an okay place to live. Nice scenery. The staff could give a rats ass about upkeep and shuffle around the parking lots all day picking up trash. It took 3 days for them to come and fix or garbage disposal, a week to fix our bathroom fan...the cabinets were ROTTING when we moved in and they just slapped some flimsy boards inside to hold it together... We paid our rent on time through the end of the contract. We turned in our keys at the end of the month when our contract was up. Because we failed to give 30 day notice, we were billed for another month of rent, which we could not afford. They would not make an exception. It is back stabbing and slight handed policies like this that keep people from getting ahead. We were unable to get the bill lowered, they would not work with us beyond establishing a payment plan and we have been set back several months. While we understand this was part of the contract, we understand that legally we are obligated to pay, however this feels like trickery at its finest. Edward Rose needs to reconsider their policy and be more flexible. We did not have access to the building past our end of contract, we did not have keys. It is ridiculous that we are being charged ANOTHER month of rent when there was zero possibility for us to physically be in the apartment, much less reside there. The power had also been out for an ENTIRE week when we decided to move out and only for our building!! Also...expect your vehicle to be ruined in the winter. Both of our cars were scratched and had dents from the snow plowing, which was also done poorly.
