Shocked by both one-star reviews. Please allow me to set the record straight. Racism?! Rowdy? No, no. I am predominantly African in ethnic traits, with splashes of Greek. And I also met with Duncan ( who no longer works in the leasing office, sadly ) but I had the opposite experience. He was extremely courteous. Unassuming, positive in terms of financial arrangements. More so, I believed Duncan to be a great hire as well as an endearing person. He went far out of his way for me; as have Brittney the assistant manager, Liana the manager, a receptionist Danielle, and several others. There are many moving parts in a community of over 200 units filled with complex and diverse lives. The team is welcoming and accommodating. But back on the topic of race: the staff themselves are multi-ethnic! The community contains every imaginable race. The grave complaint about racism is unfounded and absurd. Libelous self-important speculation. The office and facilities staff actually care; in a fanatical way. Duncan and Brittney both stayed after hours to address all my needs and questions while I was applying for and then commencing my lease. Liana is obviously extremely invested in the culture and vibe, like the building is her work of art. It's plain. How the office team got framed was wrong. And my loft? Profoundly beautiful! Every day, I am delighted to wake up and look around, inside and out. Amazing view, top-tier appliances, awesome atmosphere around the common areas, high ceilings, ornate fixtures and high-quality & attractive counter tops, cabinets, floors ( both hard & carpet ) and exquisite lighting. And there is A/C, to the commenter who wondered, and in-unit washers & dryers. Thick walls and thick glass. Etc, etc. I'd have to call the layouts straight up sexy, and gorgeous. The pricing and amenities are surprisingly high-value. The cost for the location blew my mind. Blocks from both Balboa and Petco parks. Blocks from like six grocery stores. Blocks from both North & South Embarcadero. The brand new library. World famous colleges & universities. Blocks from the insanely active Gaslamp Quarter. Endless variety and newness. Minutes from the International Airport. How convenient living at the exact point where the 94 & 163 touch. The people who live here are pretty intelligent and classy, not pretentious, or unruly, or aloof. One commenter might need to live in Alpine if the atmosphere here is felt to be party central. Or actually Descanso. It's alive here. It has a pulse. In the air you can sense fun & textured lives and people in motion. The humble yet admirable crowd is laid back and progressive. Business owners, licensed professional services practitioners, various kind of artist, performers, models, athletes, students; people who enjoy their days & nights, and usually have sense of direction. Makes sense then that nearly everything can be done online. There are so many little and large conveniences. Pay rent by any method, in bed at 3am. Check and track exactly what packages you receive; waiting in the office, or the new parcel locker underground in the parking structure. That's on the first of three floors of securely gated, high-availability, all-person accessible parking spots. Pick up packages before you get on the elevator. Digital community notices, and postings in the ultra-fast elevators keep us aware. Greystar is tuned to what we need and is always finding better ways to interact with their diverse range of clients. The community is vibrant. The environment is fresh, spotless, and always being improved. The lots hold well maintained & often impressive vehicles. The regulations are clear; but if there are misunderstandings or mistakes there is not a punitive attitude. The tenant experience is more like being on a cruise-liner, or living in an episode of MTV Cribs.
I visited the 707 property on 3/10/16. I didn't care for the way I was treated by the leasing agent, I believe his name is Duncan. This individual (Duncan) repeatedly spoke to me in a condescending tone. Again and again he mentioned my budget when I hadn't expressed a single concern regarding my budget. I can only surmise Duncan believes all people of color are "low budget". He was very short in describing the property, rushed me through a tour, and made it abundantly clear he was uninterested in me becoming a future resident. Overall this property would never get my business. The reason is not because I can't afford it...I can. However, I simply expect to be treated better than the way I was at 707.
I was charged a ridiculous amount of money to clean my apartment when I moved out !! even though I had it professionally cleaned ! management is poor ! if you need help don't ask Duncan in the office he does not follow through , ignores voicemails and pretends he's unaware ! random people come in and out of the complex! smells like weed!! and no security ! great location but party central
What a great place to live... The management team is pretty great and they take care of things right away. The rent is on the high side, and I don't get the pet deposit plus a monthly fee, but all in all. Great place to live..
My friend lives here. Beautiful place, always smells nice and clean in the common areas, for a studio it's spacious enough. Don't think there's air conditioning and that would be the only downside I could see. Super close to Gaslamp and Ball Park
