Great location, quiet, fair-priced, super maintenance and office staff! I am now into my second year living here. For the amount in rent that I pay, plus the "utility package" that's mandatory, I really can't expect more than what I'm getting. I understand that the buildings are older and definitely need new windows that would be more energy and cost efficient to the tenants but who can really expect that to happen? Whenever I've had an issue that has required maintenance, Schuyler and Saul have always been above par on taking care of things, from day one to current day! Michelle and Donna, the office staff, are very nice and you can tell they mean well but everyone needs to understand that they are still running a business and they can't make miracles happen. People complain about how much and when the late fee is charged. If you go online, you can set up automatic withdraw once or twice a month so you're not late. I've had issues w/ the online system and Michelle has always been able to help me out. Of course, I've had my fair share of issues/frustrations with management and neighbors, but it's no different than anywhere else that I've lived. Yes, it can be hard to reach them via phone, but it's not like they're purposely ignoring the call. There are so many times that I have walked in to get a package or had a question/concern, where I have had to wait, and I've seen them try to answer the phone to put the caller on hold but try to be respectful to the person that is sitting in front of them, which more times than not, I've seen the person basically not give them the opportunity to answer the phone. They also can be reached via email. There are random contests that they run throughout the year with cash/rent incentives. I hate touching dumpsters, so having the valet garbage service (that literally just takes it from your door and to the dumpster a majority of the time) is something I enjoy. I live in a 2BR 2BA apartment, second floor and utilities have never been an issue for me but I'm also very conscious of it all too. I am on a very strict budget and have never had issues when it comes to outrageous utilities and fees. I think my most expensive utility bill has been $70 range. The only thing I wish this complex had, is a playground. There are so many kids that live in the complex and are constantly outside playing. There is a huge field between the gazebo, dog park, basketball court, volleyball court and tennis court that are constantly occupied in the warm months, and a lot of people who walk the giant circle practically every day (if you take the very outside part of the circle of the complex and add in the rental office, you get almost exactly 1 mile).
I love-love my new home. It's clean, had new brand kitchen and bathroom. The stuff, Donna and Michelle are always ready to help. I had tiiiny problem with dishwasher disposal, which had been fixed in 10 minutes. i have friendly and not noisy neighbors. So, what else i can dream about? Just want to say thank you for Donna and Michelle one more time. You, guys, are doing great! Inna
The maintance crew- Schuyler and Saul went above and beyond to deliver a very large and heavy freight package to my second floor apartment. Greatly appreciated and thanks guys for job well done!
This place is an absolute joke, I should have listened to the previous reviews.. Bent tree constantly charges you extra money for rent or whatever they can! It's usually hundreds of dollars too!! Wtf, this place makes me sick. I sure hope nobody lives here. Make it go out of business. There is never any maintenance help and the lady at the front office makes stuff up that makes no sense to get extra money out of you. I'm an engineer and not stupid, this plave needs Major help. I could never get Maintenence help either. Bent tree is not even worth 1 star. Rant over
I really hate this place. it's not so much the neighbourhood that makes it a bad place. It's definitely clean, the upkeep of the grounds is very nice! However, the staff, mainly maintenance, are rude. Donna, the leasing agent, is very well mannered. It appears she always has our best interest at heart. She can be forgetful and a little ditzy at times, but that's really it. So why the 2 stars then? Well, for one, you can never get in touch with someone at the office unless you walk in. They never answer the phone, or return your calls after messages are left. No one follows up on anything AFTER walking in & complaining. We had a big rat infestation above our apartment and it took them 3 weeks to finally go up there and check it. Notice I said check? It took them about a week or two to finally get in there and get them, but the issue still wasn't fixed. Luckily my lease was up soon after. The fitness facility is a closet sized room with broken equipment with no cleaning supplies in there to wipe down the machine that DOES work (1 treadmill and a bench press machine). The lease says no "vicious dogs" & certain breeds are listed, however, I see people walking around with these breeds all the time & not a single soul says anything. Some buildings are non smoking buildings, like mine, however, when I say something about residents smoking in my building due to my medical condition, NOTHING happened! Thankfully this is my last year here. Let me just say this, if you have the money, there are much nicer complexes that actually gives you your money's worth.
