I like the apartment but the model which was shown was much bigger but the apartment I was given was the smaller one with very small closet and most of the closet space is taken by the heater. Also when I picked up the application leasing associate said it was running special of $ 300 off first month full rental. When I looked at internet it had $ 500 off. I immediately called another another associate told me she will give me $ 500 off and gave me the dues taking $ 500 off but the associate who was helped me with the application denied it. This was all before even signing the lease. I could understand if I had already signed the lease and moved in. This was not a fare situation and I should have been given $ 500 off. Also when I was handed over the apartment it was not even ready i.e. bath room cabinet was missing one door and it took them more than 2 weeks to fix the cabinet door. Location is good and maintenance service is good. Just the size of the apartment is not what was promised and shown. We could not see this apartment till we moved in as it was being renovated.
These people think they are very smart and they can play by rules like they want.. They act all nice and smart before you sign the lease and then start showing their true colors! Even in your very first visit, you can immediately make out their unfriendly unwelcoming nature, their lack of interest to even ask you what you are here for! Even though there are atleast 4 ppl calling themselves associates working here, nobody to care a damn about you. And after 15 mins, one hispanic lady comes to you and say that the rules don't permit them show you the apt after 5PM! Seriously? I havent heard these rules anywhere else! And whose fault is it that you keep waiting and nobody shows up (and I think maybe there are other problems which show up after dark hours - like roaches)? And then when asked to make an appointment for another date, they ask you to walk in(and wait for their mood to be good and show you what you want if interested?)..I am never walking into this place again! Try MACARTHUR PARK apts instead of this place(same old apts but lot of love and respect!)..
I have been living here for almost 3 years now. The first owner /management were absolutely polite and professional as long as you respect them as well. Tenants can complain at all times but in an appropriate manner. However, buildings are old and badly needed some upgrades. Maintenance crew were prompt as always. I have dealt with an outwardly rude maintenance guy but the management did not tolerate that I believe they had fired him. The new management had done so many upgrades that was really good and helpful to all tenants but the negative side was most of them are downright rude and unprofessional. They act like they are bothered and you are not welcome! Their lack of interest and enthusiasm at work is a turnoff among potential tenants, most especially the one who is touring with the interested future tenants. The new management retain the old maintenance guys, It is only the matter of when will the people in the office will decide to pick-up the phone or check the online request for maintenance service inorder for them to fix the problems. For the past years, tenants were moving out because they believe the buildings are too old and need some upgrades but today's reason why tenants were moving out because they were not satisfied by the way they were treated by the office management.
Even I had the same experience like some of the other reviewers....be careful and check out the apartment before you sign the lease. There isnt transparency in the process..In one word I would describe the management as "Cheats"..especially LaJeane and Others...bunch of jokers running the place..I would say stay away from them and there are plenty of apartments on the Royal Ln..check them out before u commit to this idiotic place.
Where to start. I've been having problems with this apartment complex since day one. This complex and experience is been a nightmare, STAY AWAY. I, unfortunately, signed a lease contract with them on Oct 16, 2015. Since BEFORE signing the lease I've been extremely clear that ROACHES are a deal breaker, considering that I am asthmatic and allergic to roaches. YOLANDA, the manager was "kind" enough to show me the apartment BEFORE signing the lease. During the short walkthrough, no more than 10 minutes, I found dead roaches in the kitchen cabinets and a missing drawer. My daughter and I asked her, if the complex has a problem with roaches and she denied it by saying "that sometimes, when the apartments are vacant for a length of time roaches do come in. However, when people start to move in, they kill them. Also, I live with my daughter here and we are scared of roaches. If you have a roach problem let me know, so we can take the necessary steps to deal with the issue." That was that. I trusted her statement because she lives at the complex. Little did I know that AFTER signing the lease things were going to get even worse. After signing the contract I went to the apartment to inspection it and I found ROACHES EVERYWHERE. Roaches in the kitchen cabinets, ceiling, refrigerator and the refrigerator compressor, underneath the fridge, stove, and the dishwasher, and inside the oven. There were roaches coming in from the kitchen sink and bath tub. The were roaches and roach feces in the living room and dining room walls. There were roaches in both of the bedrooms and closets. The bathroom had mold. The biggest one was the roaches nests on the entrance doorframe and their nest in the A/C vents. Keep in mind that this is in the same day that the manager denied the roach problem. The apartment wasn't cleaned at all. The air filter was dirty. The A/C has a sound a loud sound. The sliding door security bar was missing. They did changed the carpet. Since then, I've been contacting them, over the phone and personally, constantly about the roaches. The pest control goes every Friday and that was a solution they tried, but THE WHOLE BUILDING IS INFESTED WITH ROACHES. Considering that I've been fighting them about this issue when the manager, YOLANDA, stepped in she DENIED that I ever asked her about the roach problem BEFORE singing the lease. Hell, she even denied the pictures I took of the apartment. She said that the pictures are not from her apartment cause they do not have a roach problem. The funny thing is that since the first day I've talked with some of the neighbors and they have stated that the apartment complex DOES HAS A ROACH PROBLEM. So, they offered me a new unit, a renovated unit, that MIGHT NOT have roaches and they claimed that I was going to keep the same rental price. A few days later they say that because, my unit is not a renovated unit, if I move to a renovated unit the rent will increase. Considering that the roach infestation is not my fault and is due to the lack of proper maintenance care, the right thing to do is to move the tents to another unit without increasing the rent. I came to the conclusion that due to health hazards I have to terminate the contract and the management does not want to cooperate. Due to me, stating how the problem at hand is not my fault and denying to pay a higher rent due to their lack of professionalism and expressing my need to terminate the manager Yolanda decide to talk about me. YOLANDA decided to talk with their "maintenance" supervisor about me thinking that I wasn't in the room. They started saying how I was a puerto rican diva and she just doesn't want that unit. Yolanda, said that she wasn't going to terminate the contract because I was being a "diva" and that would teach me a lesson. To put it very simple, STAY AWAY from this complex. They discriminate based on race and appearance. Is October 27th and I haven't been able to live at the unit due to the roach infestation and I've been having constants asthma attacks. This complex is breaking the laws.
