Made an appointment to look into moving into Hamden Ridge. I showed up for my appointment with KATHY and the leasing office seemed empty. Turns out, the office is in the 2 bedroom model, and the Kathy was using the bathroom. She came out of the bathroom to find us and she seemed very unpleased that we were there. She was unaware of our appointment and was very annoyed. She huffed at us that she had just showed someone else around the property as if telling us she did not want to be bothered. She continued to throw the form to fill out at us, while continuing to roll her eyes and huff at us with an attitude. We seemed to be in her way, so she referred to us as "you people" and told us to sit-- still rolling her eyes. Needless to say, we walked straight out and did not even waste our time or considered to spend our money in a business with employees like that.
I've lived with my wife in a 2 bedroom apt for three years now. During this time we had a child (now 2 years old). Our apartment is fairly nice (great hardwood floors and large bedroom). Neighbors are mostly young professionals and are quite and respectful. However, the closets are very annoying. They constantly have their wooden slats falling out and are coming off their tracks. Very cheap materials used. Maintenance is pretty responsive, but they have yet to fix our oven (which is off by 75-100 degrees; gets way too hot so we have to set the dial much lower and check our oven thermometer regularly). The laundry room is a fiasco. There is only one for the whole complex and the machines are constantly in disrepair, which creates competition for space (and tension among residents). My only other complaint is that there is no play equipment for children, although there is some nice green space at the center of the complex where children can (and often do) congregate. Overall it has been a pretty good experience, but I wish they would put a little more money/attention into these details.
