DO NOT MOVE HERE!!!! When we first moved in almost two years ago, the place was decent for the price. Although we noted that the outlets are all COVERED in paint, the floor has lumps (which they said were normal), a maintenance man admitted to us that our carpet was not new, some outlets didn't work (supposedly one was fixed how ever only the top portion works), and the carpets needed to be stretched, the apartment was livable. Jasmine (part of the office staff) is very rude, we began noticing these tiny black bugs in our pantry, suddenly we have TONS of roaches, the back pool is never open, the water from our faucets is ridiculously hot and NEVER gets cold, and I HATE living here. The ROACHES are bad enough! Yes, you can ask to have pest control come however you have to do it over and over and you will still have roaches regardless of how clean you are. I'm convinced they're not only in the walls but perhaps some neighbors aren't helping. I forgot to mention that when we first moved in, another apartment had it's door broken in and if you looked/went in it was ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING!!! THE WORST THING I HAVE EVER SEEN AND THEY LET IT SIT THAT WAY FOR WEEKS!! SAVE YOURSELF THE STRESS!!
Someone stated they've lived here for a number of years with no police coming out? That's a joke. The first four months we've had our bikes stolen, police knocking on people's doors in the middle of the night. Our neighbors 2 year old was found wandering in a feces filled diaper outside by herself with feces and dirt covering her from head to toe. I called the police and turned out her crack head mom was sleeping the whole day while her kid was out wandering around all afternoon. This place is horrible! For the amount we pay in rent (not including water mind you) you would think they could afford more than three maintenance workers. Since we've lived here we've dealt with a/c problems, mold, leaky facets, water damage, broken fridge, and now a roach problem. Be prepared to wait forever for your problem to get fixed. Even when they did come, they either say there's nothing they can do, I'll get back to you, or they do a horrible attempt at fixing the problem. Our fridge and a/c have been our biggest issue since we moved in. Our a/c would constantly leak water into the hallway. Which we noticed previous water damage on the move in inspection. It took them over a year to replace a motor in it, which before that was driving up our electric bill. My husband does HVAC, even he knows our whole unit should be replaced but they won't do it. This place is circa 1970s and that's how old the unit is, they had to special order the stupid motor. Instead of just replacing the whole thing. Our fridge was on the fritz since we moved in, it finally just stopped working. And it took them over a week to even attempt to try and fix the problem, that's not before I called corporate and emailed them multiple times with no response. So the problem goes all the way to California where they are located. These people are rude act like you're just another number. The place looks deceivingly nice when you come check it out. The say they have two pools but the other one you don't see is never open because they don't maintain it. It's disgusting. If you're a college kid who doesn't care about living in a comfortable clean apartment. Then by all means come here. All us other adults that know better and have families, avoid this place like the plague.
This place is gross. Terrible water/bug damage to our ceiling, but all they did was paint over it. The ceiling over our shower was literally (not figuratively) pouring water. We notified them that there was a very bad leak. they stopped the leak, and sprayed an acrylic sealer above our shower. They never fixed the ceilings in the bedroom or living room, even though we reported the filth on our initial walkthrough. Roaches are everywhere. We had termites crawling and flying around in our apartment, and disturbingly enough, there were termite larva in the ceiling above my daughter's bed. They had burrowed through the ceiling and laid eggs. Standing on a chair, I poked the egg sack, and could see all the larva wriggling. We contacted the office, and one of the maintenance men came out, and scraped it off the ceiling. Problem solved, I guess? The screens on the windows were torn, and of course they never fixed them. The screen at the back of the house had completely fallen out, and we notified the office. Several months later, when we finally moved out, the screen was still lying on the ground beneath our window. All the cupboards are old, falling apart particle board. The outlets are all painted over, and caked with dried paint. They don't even bother masking off when the paint after each tenant. The phone jack was ruined because of all the paint. The dishwasher leaks all over the place. Dog owners throughout the complex let their dogs crap everywhere, and don't scoop it up. There are two swimming pools, but one of them is never open. Neighbors who had lived there much longer than us told us that the second pool is out of operation almost all the time. You can hear the neighbors very easily. Hopefully your neighbors are considerate people. Hopefully you never live in Waterside Apartments. At the corner of Hall and Aloma, there is a billboard over the Citgo Station proclaiming that Waterside Apartments affords "Lakefront Living at It's Finest." There should not be an apostrophe in the word "its." When the word "its" is spelled with an apostrophe, it means one thing, and one thing only: "it's" is a contraction that means "it is."
Turn back do not live here!!!!! They most unfriendly RUDE STAFF!!!!!!! ROACHES!!! We moved here a year ago and should have know from the first day we shouldn't live here. We went in the office to get our keys to move in at 930 Am and was Yelled at by Katrina that we came 'too early, can you people not read" and continued to say how she can't stand when people don't read directions. We were more than happy to wait, we were not demanding to get our keys. She completely embarrassed us. That was day 1. THEY misplaced our rent one month and sent us a eviction notice. We just bought a house and they said they would work with us and our lease. Well i went in 4 different times and called them to see exactly how much everything was going to be and when our vacate date was. I had a copy of my lease and it said oct was when our lease was up, So i asked the girls when i brought back my 60 notice whats the exact vacay date? They said we had to be moved out by the end of sept. She looked at my lease and said yes sept. so i signed they paper that said SEPT. I just went in SEPT 15th to drop off the keys and KATRINA said oh why are you bringing them in so early? i said thats what my notice said. She pulled up my 60 notice and someone used WHITEOUT and wrote over SEPT and put oct! so now we just go completely screwed and have to pay our mortgage new home bills on top of this TERRIBLE place. We just want to be DONE with this place already! This place is a huge rip off and I'm really worried to see what our "cleaning fee" is going to be. My friend that lived there just got a "cleaning fee bill" for $850 This staff is by far the worst staff i have ever ever had to deal with. Extremely rude and find every way to take your money. Oh and this place has so many roaches.
Really good community of people here - nice management and clean apartment building. The place is full of students and also some families. The location is awesome, really cool lake and is close to downtown area and school. I live in a two bedroom unit with some nice stuff in here, good appliances and counters and cabinets and things!
