Lots of college kids and sketchy tenants blasting bass all day and night. I actually witnessed a guy driving through the gate arm and taking it out. This apartment complex convinced me to buy a house so I never have to endure such pain again.
Axis doesn't even deserve one star, but I can't give them 0. When I moved in, it was great 03/13. All summer was chilling out by the pool with the community throwing the football. Summer was ideal. Then they started switching management, and now the place is absolute shit. I am currently locked in for 6 more months, but I plan on taking legal action as well as filing with the Better Business Bureau regarding the travesty of a construction site/college dorm that Axis has become. Want to sleep in on the weekends? Don't move to Axis. They told us the construction would take 4-6 months. Well now they started working on Saturday mornings at 9am and have an ETA of 1.5 years. At the time of this review, there is an ETA of 1 year remaining. And they aren't willing to negotiate any concessions/reduced-rates for removing the comfort standard of living until it is completely done. If you or someone you live with works from home, this is NOT the place for you. So much commotion on a regular basis, this place is distracting to an annoying level. Also, the Art Institute of Atlanta over booked the freshman dormitories, so they rented out 16 rooms at Axis. They have 4 18-year olds per room, and they are all art majors. The bass is loud between 1-3am, the kids run up and down the hallways yelling, ask older tenants to buy them alcohol, etc... Everything you would expect from a freshman college dormitory. They also used to provide a catered chef every weekend. It was great. The tenants would all get together in the clubhouse and just mingle. Everyone got to know each other and it was awesome. Now they go get publix pastries once a month (dohnuts and muffins) and no one bothers even going down to eat them. The awful thing is they keep telling people, "Oh yeah, Chef ** is coming back next month" (for the last 6 months). Axis used to have a nice dog park where all the dogs could play rough and tire out. Now they have construction completely blocking it from one side. And the back and forth of construction workers has torn the dog park to nothing more than mud and holes. It's disgusting and sadly no one ever occupies it anymore. The pool and grill area (one of the main reasons I moved in) will be closed all summer. This statement was made by the Regional Manager Tammy Young. After the murder last year (google the incident regarding 3 guys doing cocaine and throwing one over the fifth floor balcony), they never throughly cleaned up the blood and some still remains in the stairwells on the 3rd and 4th floors. The office keeps saying it's not blood but the detectives at the time said that it was clearly blood. Cant sleep in your own apartment due to construction or the college kids? Don't bother trying to go hang out in the club house. A lady who doesn't even live here is coming in and hosting an unofficial daycare for profit in there. Good luck getting any work done. Overall this place is a nightmare. The staff is awful. They are willing to listen, but don't expect any responses/follow up. Some new girl just started and she has to be the ice queen herself (Brittany, i think?). Whats worse is it's all the same even with higher management. It's sad that I am having to take this to such a degree to make a point.
Not sure why some of the one stars. I think the properly is great. It is also nice and quiet with a friendly staff.
Stay at Axis at your own peril! Great location, but be very careful with the management there. We stayed here as part of our corporate housing, then they tried to charge us for damages incurred prior to our move there. We thought the apartment was already inspected and accounted for by the corporate housing company, but Axis tricked us into paying for damages. We continued to stay there on personal lease hoping that the prior experience would not repeat, but when we moved out, the same thing happened. Axis, instead of clarifying the charges, sent our statement to a collection agency.
So happy I am going to be living here for college....*filled with joy
