Know when reading reviews that they put a sign in the elevator that states "enter to win $100 by writing a good review online" for all the tenants to see. ---Terrible management. I have never dealt with management like this before. Before choosing to move in, I saw some of the online reviews but, I figured I could handle management because I fell in love with the building. I was very wrong. The manager who is supposed to be there most of the time was hardly ever in the office during the hours it was supposed to be open. I believe she only ever answered my phone call to the office twice the entire 7 months I had been living there. The first few months that I lived there she kept leaving messages on the WRONG phone number to get in contact with me. I let her know multiple times in person and over an email what my correct number was. --- Before this I had AMAZING rental history. Nothing but great recommendations at apartments I had lived at for years that were much nicer and much more expensive than these. I have NEVER had a problem. Now, my spotless history is ruined. I chose to break the lease and get out of those apartments ASAP because I just couldn't handle it anymore.
By far the worst management we have ever had to deal with. New management raised my rent $400 after previous management confirmed it would not be readjusted. Was threatened by the new management to have to pay for maintenance cleanup that we were not at fault for. Was threatened by new management to have to pay for hanging art work around our unit. Threatened by new management to have to remove storage items from a parking space that WE pay extra for. Management does random security checks, they don't care if you work third shift, they just walk right in when its convenient for them. They have turned off our water for HOURS during the day, I have a daughter who stays home during the summer days, she was unable to shower or do dishes, or even flush the toilet. We had an incident with management in which they said we had to pay them to clean up a MINOR mess, we agreed as long as they let us know how much the clean up was, its been over a month now and we have not gotten anything back from them. When we talked to them we gave them a week to let us know for sure what they wanted us to pay, still no word. THEN on top of all this crap we've had to deal with from this terrible management, the elevator goes out--we get it, things break, but THREE weeks is absolutely ridiculous. There are people in this building who are immobile without that elevator, we have neighbors missing doctor appointments due to this issue. The management isn't working with anyone, and when we go to the office to talk to them to try and figure it out-- go figure, no one is there. This is a horrible living situation and I personally would NEVER recommend this building nor Gorman and Company, all together a terrible company.
