My kitchen sink was clogged and overflowing at 8:00pm on a Sunday night. A plumber was dispatched that night! The plumber was courteous and efficient. He cleaned everything. The staff is very friendly. The lofts are just the right size. The kitchen is spacious! One block from light rail. Starbucks is right across the street!
Hated it is right. Dont get me wrong, the apartment was beautiful. Too bad that the cover of the book was the only good part. The staff are the actual worst to deal with and they outsource to some big calling corporation so dont expect to ever talk to a real person in a problem (theyll be there at the lease signing though to take your money). I moved out and transferred my lease to another woman because it was so bad. Not only did they take new security deposits from them, they kept mine as well promising it back when they moved out. On the day the new tenants were supposed to move out they sent me an email saying ill be charged for the upcoming days because they werent out and the keys werent in. I talked to the woman who moved in for me she said they had moved out on the 20th and keyes were on the kitchen counter like they had told her to do. Now im dealing with all this, theyre keeping my deposit and am not able to get anyone on the phone to help and I havent lived there in months! DO NOT LIVE HERE.
The experience I've had at the Bank Lofts has been nothing but pleasant. The leasing office staff is friendly, quick to respond and immensely helpful with everything from the paper signing to the move to every day living. Everyone in the building is nice, relatively quiet and respectful. The city view is fantastic, and the location is within walking distance to practically everything. Being right above Bruegger's Bagels is a bonus, too.
I enjoy the location. It's great to be right in downtown and the secured entry makes coming home a pleasure. My service requests are completed in a timely manner and by nice professional staff members. I have a hard time finding the office open during their posted office hours which can be very frustrating at times. I would recommend Bank and Boston Lofts Apartments to my friends.
I enjoy living in the Boston Lofts. I really love my space: I like old buildings (and furniture) so the Bank and Boston Lofts meets my needs in this way with tons of personality. I have two bank vault doors, one just outside my front door and one inside a little alcove-type area. My ceilings, I would guess, are about 15 feet high. I have a beautiful, huge window that rotates on its axis into the street (I'm on a high floor), which makes my place breezy and bright. Tons and tons of sunlight--which I love. I love the exposed industrial pipes and the walls have interesting texture, like nooks and crannies all over them (it looks really nice) and complements my art work. There are some down sides to living here, like any apt building you live in: the piping is old, and so my toilet actually makes a gurgle sound--I'm guessing it's when a toilet is flushed in the building--and actually bubbles water up through the toilet. It's rather strange. Also, the water level in the toilets is low and so my water bill is fairly high because it has to be flushed a lot. Since I've lived in the building (about a year and a half) it has flooded numerous times. My loft has never been affected but my floor has. The water seems to need to be shut off fairly frequently for some sort of repairs. I've never really been affected because I've been at work during repair hours. The garbage "room" is freaking disgusting and will make you gag--puddles of water the last time I went back there...don't go back there for any reason! I've found the few maintenance requests I've put in are answered quickly and pleasantly. The lock on my door sometimes does not open and so I have to spend three or four minutes trying to get into my own place--this is pretty frustrating. I've had someone look at it, but since we couldn't replicate the issue--what happens is the lock just keeps flipping over on itself, so it won't catch to open--in that moment, there was nothing to do--but the door not unlocking happens about once a month (I'm not dreaming it). There's no parking--be prepared to pay an arm and a leg to park anywhere within six or seven blocks: pretty standard downtown-living. The laundry room eats your money fairly frequently and there is no one to refund it on site. I sometimes do feel frustrated by office staff (possibly the national team on the phone?--I'm never quite sure who I'm talking to because I don't go into the office on site often so don't know people by name, if they are local or not). I feel as if they don't return my calls when I have something I'd like to talk about--a late fee reversal, for example--but call me repeatedly when they have something to discuss--renewing my lease three months in advance. In fact, I called them Friday about something, left a message, and it is Wednesday now and I have no returned call from the office staff. I find this frustrating and really, very unprofessional. Overall, I love the building and my loft.
