I love Autumn Woods! The staff is always friendly and helpful, and the environment is beautiful. Love the pool and exercise room, and my balcony. Great value for the money. My only complaints are the neighbors. You never know who you're gonna get. Mine are loud and they don't clean up their dog poop. Other than that. Great place to live.
I am usually not a complainer, but I would not recommend these apartments to ANYONE! The management changed as soon as I moved in and it was nothing but chaos. The maintenance takes weeks on end to resolve issues. Throughout the time that I lived there I had to report a leaking refrigerator, which took months to get fixed and when they finally did fix it, they took all of my food out of the refrigerator and put it on the counter while I was not home. They left my food out on the counter and I had to throw all of my food away when I got home. My air conditioner stopped working in the middle of July. Living on the third floor, the heat was pretty unbearable. Three and a half weeks later, it still had not been fixed so I had to personally go in and beg for it to be fixed. I had a door fall off the hinges and hurt my dog, naturally, that took a week to get fixed. I called an outside company to come fix my front door because I didn't trust the onsite maintenance. The door knob was loosened with some kind of tool and it looked as if someone had been trying to break in. My neighbors were always smoking weed which stunk up my apartment and the other one had dogs that barked at all hours of the night. Another lady that lived somewhere in the complex kicked at my dog that was on his leash because she was walking on the sidewalk and we had to pass each other, her response was that she "doesn't like dogs". The issues were endless and I tried keeping my complaints to a minimum but I moved out the first chance I got. Then I received a letter stating that I owed them hundreds of dollars for repainting rooms that I never even painted. So what was the $125 non-negotiable "redecorating" fee I paid prior to moving in for exactly? Not to mention, their idea of paining is horrendous considering my walls, shower and ceiling were a shade of blue from the person that lived there before me. I wish I would have known all of this before paying them thousands of my hard earned money. Learn from my mistakes people!
I lived in this community for years. The staff is attentive, friendly and maintenance has addressed any issues I experienced in a timely manner. The landscape is beautiful with a nice pond to walk my dog around. I really appreciated that this community allowed my dog, as that can be hard to find. It's also a great location, close to the Dayton Mall and now the new Austin Landing shopping center. I also really enjoy the pool during the summer and the tennis court. For the money, I don't think you can find a better value in the area.
I would not recommend living here due to laziness/poor performance from the maintenance staff and incompetence, terrible communication, and broken promises from the office staff. My last three months there were a joke. There was a massive flood (which they certainly couldn't help) while I was out of town and I came home to a drenched apartment. No one thought to contact me about my apartment even though every other apartment around me had flooded. The next several weeks were full of promises to dry carpet, clean carpet, and take care of mold. I couldn't tell you how many times I had to go to the front office to see what the deal was. The only good part about this was a front office employee named Amy who was wonderful. Aside from her, a great number of people should be fired starting with the resident manager. Live somewhere else.
I would not recommend Autumn Woods. Few staff members are unprofessional and rude. My lease was up and they said they never received my 60 (yes, not 30) days notice. Not only did I use their paper to notify, I also gave them a written notice in my own words. Now saying I have to pay 2 more months of rent for the 60 days notice. In other words, I will pay for an apartment I am not living in to give their staff 2 months to get ready for new tenant. Walls are paper thin and it sounds like a flood coming down walls when toilet is flushed or water is draining from tub. When people vacuum it sounds like a swarm of bees coming thru the floor. Whenever repairs are needed, you are made to feel it is your fault, such as a refrigerator that always leaked in the bottom. And when someone had tried getting into apartment (with a key as deadbolt was moving), an air conditioner needing changed in 70 degree heat was more important than my safety. Stay away from this apartment complex.
