Terrible experience! Nothing works well, rooms are worst than a sheep motel, super small!! Nobody cares about if you feeling ok, we ask for a triple room and they charge $1000 to put a camp bed on it!! I don't recommend! Expensive and small!!!
Spent our honeymoon here. It was small, reminded me of university residence, but we didn't have high expectations for space. We just needed a basic, clean and comfortable place to rest, and it was. The lobby and the rooftop patio were just extra amenities, and they were great. Being a block away from Columbus Circle was extremely convenient. The subway station there is directly served by lines to all of the boroughs. Times Square and Central Park are a couple minutes away. If you need a good priced NY hotel, you are going to be out seeing the sights all day on foot and by subway, and you can tolerate a small room, this is the perfect hotel.
Nice hotel. Small rooms, but that is outlined in advance and their lobby bars are great. My two-star review has to do with the complete lack of customer service after my stay. I provided a personal credit card upon arrival at the Hudson, as for some reason my boss' card was not working. I was assured that there would be no charges on my card after sorting things out with my boss (and his card was approved), and that mine would be taken off file. Day two of my trip: $318 worth of charges on my personal card from Hudson Hotel. Day three: $183 charged on my personal card from Hudson Hotel. I live in another country, and called four times to voice my concern, register my complaint, and have the issue rectified. It took 3 days to have the charges come off, and then, on the Friday after my stay (I checked out of the hotel on a Tuesday), I was charged another $213. Livid at this point, I called three more times (no answer, no voicemail) and sent two emails. The last email said that I would be disputing the charge with my credit card company if they didn't respond within two business days. It has been another week and I have never received a call or email to sort things out or apologize. The final charge is in dispute mode with my card company, and I do not recommend this hotel if you have a level of expectation for service.
Understaffed front desk ='s long wait. Wicked cool lobby. Cramped rooms. Plus a BS $19.95 "urban resort fee" per night for wifi and a food&drink credit. I guess my $585 for two nights isn't enough. I've stayed here 5+ times and I'm done with this place...
Staff is Horrible! Front Desk wait time is over 30 minutes. Took three days to get Mechanical engineer to fix problem with heat/cooling system and never did! The Music from the "Club" in the lobby blared all night long! There was even a long line at the front desk at 2am!!!!! The telephone operator hung up on us 5 times in a row. Then left a voice mail laughing (didn't know it was recording) Elevators were Slooooow. The Room is VERY small, I have stayed in NYC plenty of other times and this has to be the smallest in record! Enough room to get up on each side of the bed and a small path to the bathroom, that you must back into! PLUS they now charge a 19.95 urban resort fee but fail to tell anyone about it!! They tell their guest that it is included with their package!!!! The management has no regard to guest, nor do they understand how to run a business! The best part about this hotel is the location, it is very close to central park and Christopher square!
