BE CAUTIOUS!!! My wife an i lived here for three years and it was OK for the first two before they got bought out. We were broke and my wife was attending MSU Law so we wanted cheap and a good area. Autumn Ridge (formerly Oak Park Village) allowed for pets, had good maintenance response, and was located in a good area close to everything we needed. AFTER they were bought out you could see and immediate change. They will nickle and dime you to death and cant mange worth a damn. We had an accounting error that took three months to figure out and was from when we switched units one year prior to them finding an issue and trying to charge us $300 which turned out they actually owed us. KEEP all documentation of everything because you will need it when they try and randomly charge your for something. We got charged even after we left for more money for our final utility bill than what we actually owed. The NWP utility company sent our final bill and i was fine with Autumn Ridge taking it out of the money they owed us but they took more than the bill was for and now will not return my phone calls. It was itemized separately on our final print out as two bills for august but they are likely trying to make us pay for the transitional usage before they got another renter in there. They will try to get you for everything. They will jack your rent a lot each year, try and force you to rent a garage, pay for parking, and now even making it like a condo and trying to charge association fees. They have been doing a lot of upgrades which have been long due but are trying to push the cost onto the tenants very quickly and drastically. The office staff is very IGNORANT to the lease, complex rules, and laws. Just be prepared to have to cover your ass and look over your shoulder. DO NOT TRUST THE REVIEWS OF THE MAJOR RENTING SITES! They will not actually let you write a review and instead state that the review come from former residence that have been selected to provide a survey by email which was then vetted and posted by a third party. Ya OK!! More like we pay them to put reviews up that make us look good or mostly good and are fictitious.
