I've lived in this complex for almost 3 years. I don't understand all of the negative reviews. The apartments are fantastic, have a great price, and are in a great location. I am about to sign a lease for a bigger apartment, and I can't wait to live here for a few more years. For some of the negative reviews, take a look at some of the other local apartments. My fiance lives down the street at los altos and she can't wait to move out! She pays almost as much as me and the apartments are very dirty, old, and they have home invasions at los altos every other week. Talk about scary! The estates at maintland summit are very safe, and since my almost 3 years living here, I haven't seen very much crime at all, if any.
The trash valet is fantastic! Most apartments ask you to walk or drive your trash sometimes over a mile to the trash bin in the back of the complex. The estates pick up the trash at your front door, how great is that! Overall I love this apartment complex and I will be living here for years to come.
I made the mistake of not believing all the negative reviews I read of this place. That was my mistake. Don't make the same. First off, the parking is atrocious. I never thought I would care until I lived there for about a month. Unless you and your 2 or more roommates all share one car and work at the same place at the same time you are kind of screwed. Oh, well you can pay for more parking spots for an additional $100 a month. What a deal, am I right? (that was sarcasm, of course). Having visitors over? After they walk a half a mile from wherever they could find a spot they will likely never come over again. But worst of all are the hidden fees. It seemed like every month we would have to march into the office asking what the heck certain additional charges were for and demanding they take them off. But they got us in the end when 4 months after we moved out I receive a letter from a debt collection agency saying I owe almost $1000. I asked why, they gave me a list of reasons I know we resolved before leaving. Then I asked why they didn't send these fake charges to me as soon as they came up and the agency said they did send it, to the apartment we had moved out of! Maintenance sucked. The grounds were always dirty. The "valet garbage service" would often neglect to come even though we were responsible and disposed of our trash exactly how they wanted us to. Sorry if this seems like a rant from a bitter former tenant. I have lived a few different places in my life. Always have respected my environment and never have had much apartment trouble besides at this overpriced dump.
This was a very poorly run complex. Very unhappy with them as a whole.
When we first moved in it was in the middle of the day so parking wasn't even a question, as soon as 5 rolled around and people were poring as they returned from there jobs parking was a MESS!!!!! We asked management (with in the first week) and asked if they were going to do anything about the parking. They said they had "plans" to elevate the disaster they had. So a year later and about 50 close calls (from people driving like crazy in the parking lots) still nothing new on the parking situation except management telling the residents that "we" need to stop parking in non parking areas (and making matter worse). There whole set up is BS! Apartments were nice, but parking is really why we moved. Also when its time to move expect to loose your deposit and then some. We were EXTREMELY clean and had a well trained dog, they said the carpets need to be replaced because of the smell of a dog (BS). So i guess the insane pet deposit and regular deposit it didn't cover it. DO NOT LIVE THERE!!!!!!!!
