Building is great! Management is absolute garbage. Lived there for years. Over the last 2 years, management went to feces. The manager Jason is abrasive and disrespectful towards tenants. He hires people incapable of running an apartment complex. There is a reason a lot of the folks that have been there for many years are moving out. If you want to overpay, have your rent raised 1,500 every year, and get treated poorly... Move to Celio.
For what I was looking for, Celio is a pretty good match. I don't have a car, so the location of the building is great. You are just a walk from the pearl, the bank, grocery stores, and shopping on 23rd. And lots of great places to eat. There is a little gym in the building as well, if you want to slip a quick run in after sunbathing on the roof. I agree with some of the previous reviews, the ventilation is lacking and the walls are somewhat thin, but in my experience, my neighbors have never been a disturbance. Also, the hall have been repainted and carpeted so they are nice to come home to.
Celio apartments are a gem in the Kings Hill area. I perfect blend of charming features from yesteryear and new modern upgrades... The apartments and halls are oh-so-quiet and the neighbors, the best :) I've lived here four years now and I couldn't be happier. The location is perfect too. Uptown and close to shopping, NW 23rd, and downtown! A real 5-star apartment building, IMHO. Dianna
First the pros: Celio Apartments is in a great location. It's in walking distance of downtown, NW 21st and 23rd and Washington Park. The views of the mountains are also amazing from my window and on the roof of the building. The staff is friendly, and does a good job of dealing with maintenance requests quickly. Now the cons: The apartments are older and unfortunately don't feature dishwashers. The walls are thin and you can sometimes hear the TV or music coming from another apartment. You also may not get the length of lease that you want. I tried to renew my lease recently and wanted a 6 month lease, but the staff told me that option was not currently available, and I could maybe get one a few months down the road. Overall Celio is a good place to live if nothing else for the location.
I was looking for a studio apartment closer to work and I stumbled upon Celio Apartments and moved in around two months ago and so far I really like the location and my apartment is just right. I am now closer to work, have nearby shopping, places to eat and drink and plenty of nice neighbors. My leasing agent was very friendly and helpful to when I first walked into their office to talk to them about leasing an apartment to when I moved in. The roof top view of downtown Portland is amazing especially at night. So far my experience at Celio has been just fine.
