Worst place to ever live. I wouldn't even tell my worst enemy to live here. The place is nice, but the staff is what makes the place so bad. You wouldn't think the staff matters to much because your living in the apartment, not true. On several occasions I would be getting ready for work in the bathroom, just out of the shower and walk out to a man who didn't speak English just standing in my living room, we had to call the office just to find out why he was even in there. Then they make it seem as though you do nothing but bother them because like there busy they just sit there giggling to each other. There is so much more I could say but this is already to long. Just by other reviews the owners should really read these and just fire everyone in that office then start over with a staff that is friendly and somewhat educated who know's what there doing. With the staff currently, the average rating truly deserves a 1.5.
Okay. We moved here a little over a year ago and at first we loved it. The property was nice, it was very pet friendly, and the apartments weren't half bad. After living here for over a year this is what i have learned. The management is rude. They don't ever want to be bothered. They rent to anyone. The community is a mix of working class families, and trashy individuals who never watch their children. Speaking of the children, they constantly vandalize and/or steal bicycles. Getting back to the management, they never want to help, but that doesn't stop them from acting like a college RA. They think they can "inspect" your apartment at any time. The ONLY good thing about living here is the maintenance workers. They are professional and competent. Unfortunately the management likes to micromanage them, and tie their hands when it comes to replacing broken items. You basically have to flip out for them to replace a broken appliance or fan. Additionally, if they come to your apartment to fix one thing, and you tell them while they are their that something else is broken, they will get bitched at if they address both issues while they have the time. They want to help but management wont let them. More ghetto people are moving in every day. I was told that apartments are now getting broken into. If you are try to find a place that doesn't follow their breed restrictions, this place is it. Their are many pit bulls and other aggressive breeds. The neighbors are loud and don't care if they go out and their dogs bark all night long. The lease is meant to trap you into staying. They require 2 months notice if you are not going to renew your lease. So if you find a place, you have to tell them to hold it for two months. I have never heard of a landlord willing to do that. If you give them anything less than 2 months notice, they will still charge you two months rent, and that rental rate will be jacked up significantly for any time you stay past the end of your lease date even if the only reason you are staying is because of the 2 month notice requirement. The pool closes at 9 p.m. which is annoying. The club house cannot be rented out like in other communities, and when you go into the club house the management looks at you like you have intruded into their territory. I want to note that by management i mean the upper level management. Not the people at the front desk, or that blonde assistant manager, she is nice. They simply forced to deal with angry tenants all the time because the highest management likes to treat the residence like crap.
Property is nice. Staff is less than desirable, not a very welcoming office. I went to them to view the property the staff seemed bothered. As I waited a tenant came into the office with a maintenance request and again staff seemed bothered. When I go to see a unit I was surprised to find a lot of money for little space. Kitchen was out of date with some sort of spray on the counter tops. The appliances were not very well fitting and the carpet was pretty dull. I was also surprised that there is a charge for water and sewer and trash pick not too mention basic cable. Not for me. I have now found a cute condo for the same cost (3 bedroom), my water and basic cable are paid through the association and I have a garage that I am not paying extra for. Aventine maybe you should offer more and clean up your tenants some of them that saw roaming I would not feel safe around - JM
I would not advise moving here - it is all window dressing!! It was better when it was San Marino at least they were honest about the crap area! Aventine lures you in to their drug infested community - their severe mold issues - and their CRAP CUSTOMER SERVICE - always bothering them attitude! Kitchens severely outdated unless of course you enjoy the BRADY BUNCH era! the Hallways are always a mess unless you are by the office of course! - Appliances are also crap - if one goes down they do not replace they give you a crap one from another unit that is just as bad! Sad really as the place could be great if they stopped trying to fill up their units with just anyone - and get rid of the DRUG TRAFFICKING!!!!
