Before moving into these apartments my spouse and I had lived in a more urban part of Lakewood, what the people up here call "chocolate city" and use to stress about going home to visit because we we're scared of someone stealing our cars or breaking into our place. We lived there for a year and a half and none of that stuff ever happened. Well not until we moved to The Village at Seeley Lake apartments. We figured we wouldn't have to worry about any burglaries or break-ins and boy were we wrong. My spouse had a truck stolen and caught someone in broad daylight trying to take the car. Not even a year later. When my spouse went to report to management about the stolen truck it was another individual in there reporting about his stolen car. Also my neighbor had someone break into their apartment in broad daylight, between 10am-12pm. I talked to management asking them if they plan on doing anything about all the burglaries and break-ins and they basically says no and gives me the number for security. I should not have to call security if you know the crime rate is high around here they should already be here patrolling the neighborhood. Why call security when I can call the cops? What can security do that the police can't? She also says the crime is high out here because the thieves know that mostly military stay out here and we have nice things. Really lady?? That's no excuse. But they don't bother telling you that before you move in either. Then the new management here is all about money and attitudes. They don't care about any of your issues if its not making them any money and if complain about something they quickly catch attitudes with you. They've come up with all these new rules that's NOT in the leasing contract and have the audacity to say "your signature is not needed for these rules to go into effect" since when is it not needed? Example: You can't backwards park your car, if you do it's getting towed. Not realizing how inconvenient it is for some residence to just pull in the way some of these parking spaces are set up. A $75 dollar fine for having trash on your porch the night before trash pickup. They don't want the trash out before 6:30am, Well what about folks who leave their house at 5:45am to be on-time for 6:30am PT (military) and don't come back home until the end of the day? They shouldn't have to walk or DRIVE to the trash (because it is an inconvenience for some to walk) when WE pay for trash pickup. You can't have stuff on YOUR patio that YOU pay for. it's just ridiculous out here now. I once enjoyed staying out here now I'm just ready to leave. You would think that if you're paying for parking you should be able to park how you want and everything else, expensive as it is to stay out here. Their doing all these renovations and I highly believe that's why they are trying to find ways to get money out of us residence. No renovations to our apartments though just to the office and rec building. Trying to appeal to future residents eye but in actuality there is nothing appealing about staying out here. I DO NOT RECCOMEND THE VILLAGE AT SEELEY LAKE TO ANYONE!!!!! Save yourself and the things you've worked so hard for and move some place better and safer. It's so much I could go on about, but I'm pretty sure someone before me has talked about it. Just read their reviews and put it all together. This is not the place to live.
my husband and I lived here 2 years. before they switched management and got new staff, this place wasnt too bad! since they all of sudden sold the place, the staff is rude and extremely unorganized. the outdoor pool got filthy, so one would think to just got the indoor pool (since we pay for those "awesome" amenities) nope! they completely shut it down because of "light problem". when the last year and a half it was fine....before the office staff was on it and nice and even called to let you know when something was up. the new staff is so wrapped up in making the so called renovations that they dont give crap about their tenants. its also almost IMPOSSIBLE to get anyone on the phone let alone stay on the phone!!!! 15 minutes on hold is bit much if you ask me. the place sucks now just plain and simple.
I lived here for two years just after my first year after renewing the property was bought out my new owners and the whole situation was very shady. We found out two days before they bought the property it was being sold. The new owners and staff were very disorganized and some of the leasing staff were rude. They are doing lots of construction on the common areas mostly the front office and leaving the modifications in the units for the back burner. The price for the units are way over priced for the quality of the units. Old appliances nasty dingy carpet are what you can expect when moving into this place. Also there are lots of rude neighbors that take no consideration for others. Smoking is a really bad problem here. Cigarette butts litter the ground and god forbid you leave your window open because all you smell is smoke. The police are constantly in the area because of the massive amount of thefts. There are numerous amounts of homeless people that rummage through the trash compactor and loiter next to vehicles. When we moved out I turned in the keys early and upon calling to check if they had processed my move out and they had not even removed me as residents or even started the processing anything. This place is a horrible I would give it zero stars if I could i'm glad we moved.
If you would like to live in a constant state of irritation, move here. If you would like the leasing staff to have no idea what they're doing 100% of the time, please, move here. If you would like rules that are CLEARLY stated in your lease agreement to randomly change at the will of management with no notice what so ever, by all means, move here. If late fees added to your monthly rent due to management staff telling you one thing then doing another is your cup of tea, this is the place for you! This is my second year living in this apartment complex, my first year was managed by a wonderful company. The place was clean, they had a more strict application process, if you had a problem it was taken care of immediately. I paid rent on time with no problems. Then came time to renew my lease and it just so happened to be at the same time the new management took over. I was told that very little would change, the new girls were nice, friendly and helpful. I convinced two friends to move into the complex too. The first month under new management, paid rent and it never came out of my account. I was in that office once a week for the entire month asking why rent didn't leave my bank account and they insisted everything was fine, my account with them was paid up. The first of the next month I come home to an eviction notice saying I owe late fees. They then proceeded to process my late fees and rent for that month a day late and so charged me late fees for that month as well. Their decision to paint the apartments this horrible color led to my door being painted shut, so in pulling my door open, my weather strip was ripped from the door frame. I'm sure I'll be charged for that. They've become so lax on requirements getting people in these apartments (the smart ones left after new management took over and they needed to fill their vacant homes) that we now have to "leave a radio playing while you're out", "make sure all doors and windows are locked at all times" because there is "a rise in crime in the neighborhood". A guy got stabbed. There were a few break ins. That's what happened. I have never had a bad word to say about any establishment, ever. But I feel like it's my civil duty to dissuade nice people from being trapped here. Whatever they promise you to get you in will only change within the week you move in. Just don't do it. Be smart, stay away.
i hate it here. People park in your place. you can hear peoples converstations and everyone goes up and down the steps soo loud!!! The neighbors upstairs like to stomp hard making it sound like the roof is cracking! and the front office never help with anything hardly ever! The worst part is trash is everywhere and no one puts it out the days they are suppose to. i would never recomend to anyone
