Checked the community out Wednesday, got my keys Friday! Beautiful community. Leasing office staff are wonderful! Wendy Kelly is GREAT! Very quite apartment community nights and even on the weekends, which is what you want. Maintenance staff has been quick so far!! NO problems. Well maintained. Appliances are up to date, as well as new carpet and units are being remodeled. Maintenance has been quick, bathroom sink needed replacement and it was done in less than 2 weeks. Only thing I see is the gate continues to get broken by people rushing in the gate. My truck and other a few of the people in my building had our tires cut, but other than that, I love the community, things can happen anywhere. The rent is great considering the area and other rental communities rates. I definitely recommend the Laurels. I feel very safe. I will be renewing my lease when it's time.
Two major disappointments while at this Apartment Complex, 1. The gate system is useless. While it seems nice, its a fake, I have lost count of how many times my car was at the point of being rear ended, they charge for the "appearance of a safe community, yet the only entrance system is pointless, while charging you an arm and leg for it. 2. While having he convenience of garbage pick up at your door, the stairs which is the first thing your family and guest see are the stairs stained by the garbage. Not a pretty sight.
Do not move to this apartment complex! Maintenance issues were not fixed the entire time I lived there and they continually charged fees that were not due and it was a hassle to get them to remove the incorrect fees. Also the security gate is a joke. It seldom works and anyone who wants to come in can easily bypass the gate. They are not reliable or honest people.
Worst place ever...my hot water heater broke and leaked everywhere. I lost pictures and books that were stored in my closet and got ruined from the water heater and they thought I was paying for it! DO NOT RENT HERE. The office is run by one of the worst people I have had the displeasure of meeting :(
A crazy neighbor made unfounded complaints about noise from our apartment. Due my fiancee's pregnancy and our age, there's no way that we could be causing the reported issue. When speaking with the office management, they made excuses without any logical investigations into the issue. They made the assumption that our dog is the cause of the reported noise and suggested that we keep our dog crated all day and week, so that our lunatic neighbor wouldn't complain of noise. Anyone can say they think some noise is coming from somewhere, and you'll be responsible for it, leading to fines or eviction. The management has no ability to handle disputes or treat tenants with respect. I would not recommend this community to anyone. There are much more secure, less ghetto communities for cheaper prices in the area. They're so bad they can't even keep their own employees from verbally degrading the Greystar Corporation, under which they operate, nor keep employees for longer than a few months. The facilities are a mess. Our dog was able to fit through the fence at the dog park multiple times, almost leading to death at the intersection of Cleary and Central Park Drive. Other neighbors have had the same horrible experiences at the dog park and have complained without resolution. Despite the Laurels claim, they are not pet friendly. The management purposefully and deliberately forced us to feel like we were under trial, despite no infractions being committed by us. Greystar and The Laurels are a disgrace and should not be considered a reasonable, upscale living establishment. Avoid this community at all costs.
