I thought I found the perfect apartment when I moved here in September, 2014. Beautiful layout, 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms with a two balconies that overlook Babi Yar park. I use the second bedroom for my office because I work from home. I loved the separation between my office and the rest of the apartment, very conducive to being able to leave work at a decent hour, close the door and be able to enjoy the evening. My base rent when I moved in was $1,454.00 per month. I say base rent, because people need to be aware of the other charges before they agree to pay the "base rent". Resident Services: $ 9.95 Allocated Water Service: $13.83 Allocated Sewer Service: $15.33 Stormwater Service: $ 3.00 Trash Service: $10.00 Allocated Gas Service: $30.18 Pest Service: $ 3.00 Service Fee: $ 5.00 PLUS, if you have a pet, $35.00 (which i do) Garage: $30.00 (I got a special on this, but it is normally $50.00) Storage: $10.00 Making the rent a Grand Total of $1,619.29 per month. Here is what I have put up with in the year that I lived here: 1. My initial move in date was moved by management, 3 times, due to the apartment I reserved not ready for move in. Though this did cost me money, I patiently waited for this apartment, since my good friend lives in J-110, and I wanted this apartment, in this building. 2. In November of 2014, during the first real cold snap of the year, I went without heat for 5 days, due to the boiler not working in my building. Management brought me a space heater, but it did not keep my apartment above 40 degrees. It was freezing here. 3. After the "no heat" week, the boiler was semi-fixed, so the heat became unbearable for the next 4 weeks. They told me I could not touch my thermostat, due to the issue with the boiler, so it was above 80 degrees in my apartment for the next 4 weeks. 4. The elevator in my building gets "stuck" almost every other week, and on one Sunday morning, I was stuck in the elevator for 30 minutes, before the fire department came and had to take a crowbar to open the door. 5. In March of 2015, someone ran into the garage door in my building, and it was not repaired for 6 weeks. During this time, all of the people that did not pay for parking in the garage, were parking in the garage because they could. Some nights, I was unable to access MY garage space, because of this. 6. Someone broke into the storage units in my building, and all of my luggage that I stored in there was taken. 7. The pond fountain has not worked by my building since October, 2014, which has made this pond an excellent breeding ground for trash and mosquitoes. 8. The pool did not open until the middle of July, which is roughly half of the Colorado summer. 9. Just yesterday, 2 police vehicles were out in front, escorting a tenant moving his furniture out of building K. 10. There is a HUGE RV parked in front of building J, and it has been there for days. 11. In the green area across from the parking lot where I walk my dog, someone has pitched a tent. So, when I got my letter that told me my base rent is going up to $1,744.00 per month, it prompted me to write this review. This is completely outrageous! This is a BASE rent increase of 20%, which for me would be $290 per month!! Really out of line.
Love the apartments, they are a bit older so maintenance issues are expected. The issues are handled very promptly and efficiently. Josh is awesome and the other lady is awesome as well, Just an awesome staff except for Lilly who was not a pleasure to work with, although I think she is gone now. The neighborhood is amazing, you don't even feel like you are in apartments. For an apartment, it is very comfortable, and is my most pleasurable living experience. Abduallah Carter F1-4
I had an issue with my apartment and it was handled promptly and professionally. The staff has been very helpful and understanding. Chris is especially helpful, but we appreciate everyone in the office for taking the time to make sure that we are comfortable in our home! Thank you!
My first year was great. Huge apartment, nice neighborhood. The appliances were old and the linoleum was shot but the price was right. The office staff was friendly. Then they raised my rent almost 20%! I was shocked! They told me they would clean the carpet and replace appliances since I re-signed. Never happened. I have been without hot water 3 times. My heat went out and all maintenance did was leave me a note that read "its just that cold outside." When the temperature went below zero again I had to call maintenance three times and then finally go to the office and demand that it be fixed! The on-call maintenance guy is lazy and rude. When I reported water pouring through my ceiling light fixture he came out and asked me why I couldn't just put a bucket under it. The new "luxury" updates are nothing more than necessary up-keep. The customer service is gone. All they want is new money, they can't wait to get rid of the people who came in under the lower rent. I am so sad that I have to move but the rent is too high and I cannot push my budget to the limit for a place that doesn't treat me with any respect at all!
Large apartments, great neighbors (a major plus for me!) and a friendly staff now that the kinks have been worked out. I moved here right after Riverstone took over, and there have been some growing pains, but overall things are progressing well as Riverstone modernizes and updates some of the fixtures and interiors in the apartments. There are still some things to fix that the previous company left, but they are being worked on. The management handles things well with the typical politeness and efficiency that I've come to expect from Riverstone. (This is my second apartment community with them) Overall, a pleasant place to live, and better than surrounding areas, with much better tenants too.
