The units themselves are not terrible, unless you're in the smallest 2bed/2bath unit that offers absolutely no storage, not to mention the terrible foundation issues. If you ever visit, just take a look into the "exercise" room. I do enjoy the dog park even though nobody cleans up after their pet. A few residents have said that since BHmanagement took over, the service has been terrible, and they feel uncomfortable talking about their bill to the reps, because they just don't care. I've experienced bhmanagements onsite staff myself, and they are liars, and extremely rude. If they do not want to talk to you, they will find any reason to call the police on you with out hesitation. They offer absolutely NO security. Dallas Police is supposed to be patrolling, but I have only seen them twice in 7 months. Other residents have seen them only a handful of times themselves. It is a "Gated" community, and the gate only works for a few hours, every few months. This is a TERRIBLE place to live, the rates are way overpriced, for the amount of rent I pay I can live in a nice area, and know that I will not be robbed, murdered, raped, offered drugs, ect. They are just taking adventage of the community college right down the street. And your pointless "apology" does absolutely nothing for anybody, maybe you should actually do something instead of being extremely greedy, and lazy.
The problems here are too many to count. The first day should have told us that something was terribly wrong. As we were signing the papers and finishing everything up, just before they handed us our keys, the guy said "Oh by the way our cleaning ladies informed me that there is a slight problem with some little friends in your apartment." AFTER WE SIGNED THE PAPER. Our apartment was infested with roaches. The pest man sprayed three times and when that didn't work both the pest guy and management said "What else do you expect us to do? I guess it's not working." The maintanence is a complete joke. When we moved in around this time last year our heat did not work, nor did the hot water. We called the 24 hour emergency maintanence and he said that he would take care of it in the morning (in very very poor english). Only after we insisted that he take care of it tonight, he said that it would be three hours before he could get there. Apparently he did not live on property, or anywhere near the property. After coming home from work at 11:30 at night to a freezing apartment and no hot water, to be told that the 24 hour service that you pay for by living there is unavailable is completely unacceptable. We refused his service and got the A/C fixed the next day (but not the three other items that were on our list. Those were tinkered with, shrugged at, and are still broken one year later). The hot water was blamed on the City of Dallas and management was 'apparently' not told that it would be out for a week. My boyfriends clothes were stolen out of the on sight laundry facility and when he went to report it, the assistant manager Ariaceli (who I hope has since been fired) would not make eye contact with him or acknowledge anything about the theft. She stated that there are signs in the facility stating that they cannot be held responsible, which was a blatant lie. There are no signs. The doors and windows to the facility remain unlocked. When I suggested that they put a lock on the door I was met with "That's not realistic. It would take too much effort to maintain." But low and behold two months later when they had some graffiti show up in the laundry facility, a notice was sent out that the doors would be locked and in order to use the facility you would have to pay for a key. Then there was a murder on property. Not only do the drive-in gates not work, but the pedestrian gates do not either. They don't even bother to secure the property. A security guard was hired after the incident, but then convieniently became more and more sparce as the weeks went on. The pedestrian gates have huge holes just above the handles where, I assume, a code entry mechanism used to be. There are 3 or 4 walk-in gates that surround the property and NONE of the have functional security on them. Whether the murderer lived in the property or not, I don't know, but I truly believe that if Walnut Bend would put more effort into making the property that they are responsible for safe, that poor man would still be alive today and his family would still have a father. The management is LAZY. That's all there is to it. Ariacelli is rude, so much so that the new Property Manager, Thelma (?) asked me to write to corporate about how rude she is so she could get fired, because apparently she does not have the authority (or balls) to speak to her managers herself or POSSIBLY even take responsibility for her employees like a manager should. The groundskeeping here is attrocious. There is broken glass everywhere on the sidewalks and roads near where the dumpsters are. Management does nothing to enfore any of the rules that are in place. They threaten everyone with fines left and right but never actually DO anything. My methhead neighbor also recently set his own patio on fire with some homemade bombs that he was throwing at his mother from his patio. The police and arson investigators were scouring the property all night looking form him because he apparently ran. Overall if you are looking for a good place to die in squallor and filth, then come here.
Worst place I've ever lived. Office staff was rude and never the same people. Someone was murdered there last March and we felt unsafe due to that and had informed the office manager the next day that we would be moving . The company informed us that "crime happens everywhere". BS. We then to break our lease and move out and here we are 8 months later and they are trying to get more money out of us that we already paid. The texas branch of bh company is god awful and make a point to never live in there apartment homes again.
Never stay in this place. The office just give promises and lies. It's Really old buildings with cockroaches every where. Bad area, some Arab guy got killed next to my apt and some thieves rob my car and the office did nothing. They have all the time mistakes the the monthly bills trying to take more money from you.
These apartments are horrible, the assistant manager is lazy, we almost got robbed twice, a man was shot n killed right outside of our apartments, and the maintenance man is lazy, it took him 5 month to answer our request and we lived there for 6 months. There was only one security guard and he wasn't on ground like he was suppose to be. The lady in the leasing office was adding on extra fees for no apparent reason and when I tried to get a new apartment she made it impossible for me and she was watching us and had other people watching our apartment , so I STRONGLY suggest you look else where. These apartments are too expensive, especially for a 1 bed 1 bath and the apartments are not even up to par.
