RENTER BEWARE: This place is horrible. They have awful security. Had my car and my girlfriend's car broken in to on separate occasions. Then I found out the complex had good security, but got rid of them to save some money. They always talk about what they can't do, the staff is nice but useless and incompetent. The complex is more like a college dorm than anything. They always have to come do some kind of "inspection" of something. They are overpriced and always looking to charge you for something....I'm currently disputing a final ledger now.....I couldn't wait to move out and now I'm still having to deal with this crappy place trying to charge me for stuff I had nothing to do with!
You need a great place to live in? this is the place 1/ I love the office and maintenance staff! : The office staff has been really helpful and able to answer most of my questions. The maintenance has been awesome. They will try to help you even when they can't. I had to deal with some problems in my apartment and DOUGLAS is the man and he has been always there for me . 2/ Location: I love the location. It is literally close to anywhere I need to be. Georgia State University, Georgia Tech,Edge wood, Virginia Highlands , 12 minutes from buckhead ....... 3/Safety: As opposed to what other people say, this place is relatively safe compared to other residences in Atlanta. (Even buckhead has been dangerous lately) The security guards Claude and Wendell have been extremely nice and comprehensive. 4/ The rooftop View: If you want to relax and feel like you are in the city , just check out the rooftop
It's been a pretty nice spot for me and my roommate. The pool is great during the summer and I use the fitness center almost every day. The roof has one of the best views of the city with some nice grills up there too. The surrounding area can be a little ghetto but it's honestly not that bad.
Noise: I have lived here for three years. Two months ago, two college students moved in and began blasting music. I've submitted dozens of complaints, security has visited, APD has been called, and the front office has talked to them. Twice, they turned the music back on minutes after security left. When I spoke to Jamie (the Mgr who I learned is no longer Mgr), she told me that any level of music entering my apartment is not acceptable, although two staff members (including the now Assistant Manager) said "it wasn't that bad." Anytime bass is loud enough to vibrate through the ceiling, it's not cool. Jamie also promised that if there were more complaints, their lease will be terminated. The assistant manager told me today that they have to worry about the bottom line, so I have to deal or they can relocate me ... For a fee!! I've asked to be in touch with the new manager, and that has been danced around. Safety: Cars are broken into all of the time. I myself had my navigation system stolen and my neighbor had thousands of dollars of work tools stolen from her truck. More recently, apartments have been broken into (there was an incident last week). Great location, but we are two/three blocks away from the hood. Parking: If you're not home by 8, you're screwed. You will have to park on upper levels with no direct building access or on the roof. Meaning, walk down a back staircase at night alone ... Or walk though a dark garden and hope no one is hiding in the bushes. I've had guests get so frustrated that they went home. Once spaces are full, you have to circle or park across the street. Walking alone from the MLK parking lot for women is not advised.
DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT IT. All seemed fine with this apartment until a few months into living there, the parking garage gate closed prematurely and caused $2,500 worth of damage to my vehicle. Apparently, this has happened to SEVERAL residents and they won't do anything about it. Even though the security gate does not have a security sensor and frequently closes prematurely, the apartment office insists they aren't responsible. The security doors are constantly broken (the door to my building was broken for at least 6 weeks with no repair attempted or sign put up). The parking gate is frequently broken as well (because it frequently closes on cars). Not only that, this community has the thinnest walls and floors I've ever experienced! I've lived in lots of apartments before and this one was BY FAR the worst. I had to put in several calls for noise complaints and never received any response. Lastly, the locks on the apartment doors are pathetic which is why so many of the apartments get broken into (we had break in's on two different occasions in my few months of residency.) Awesome. Oh and good luck finding a treadmill that works properly. I would absolutely NOT recommend living here.
