The apartments aren't as horrible as everyone here makes them seem. I currently rent with Baytree and they have been very attentive too all of my needs. When we first moved in I can say that we did see a couple of cockroaches here and there but only in the kitchen... we had the pest control come in and spray behind the fridge and oven and ever since then I haven't seen a cockroach. A/C wasnt cooling... They came the same afternoon I reported it... Tonight - my Freezer wasn't closing all of the way and they came at 12:27 Am to take a look at it. Maintence A+ The apartments is good for a first time renter. As long as you aren't very picky. Outside could use some updating, maybe painting, a brighter more inviting look. We have been here 7 months and all in all I wouldn't tell anyone to stay away from it - if you're on a budget I suggest giving baytree a chance. 3 things I will miss when the lease is over 1) LOCATION at a discounted price 2)the space in the apartment. 3) how quiet the neighborhood is. Ready to move on to a nicer, more developed community but I wouldn't give Baytree 0 stars.
One of the worst apartments I've ever lived in! To start when moving in found the carpet was installed improperly, it didn't go all the way to the wall and had something under it that u could feel as u walked over it. Next the bathroom sink had a leek as well as the kitchen sink( this was from day one till I moved out a year later. The installation was so bad that carpet molded next to the sliding glass door and Windows. Next after month 3 the ac drain backed up and flooded the living room ,master bedroom and master closet! Took 2 days to fix and I had to clean up all the water myself. Month 6 car gets broke into along with 9, this is after rent checks was stolen out of the office and a stolen golf cart was ran into the rear fence! Month 10 was in auto accident and loss the use of my legs( no wheelchair ramps for apartment, office or common areas!) there is also no handicap parking spaces , they do have blue spots but no signs so anyone can park there and when they do u can't use ramp to sidewalk.! Kitchen door ways are also to small to get wheelchair in, so no food for unless u want to crawl or wait for a nurse! Then to top all this off they billed me for the drain leaks , crappy carpet job they did, the flood damage for ac and for my wheelchair rubbing the doorways cause they are not big enough to get through!!!!! Upon moving out I have contacted legal assistance and they have informed me that they have also been contacted about sewage being found in water going into the apartment. Which I woke up to water being shut off 5 times in the year and a half I was there. So again worst place ever!
ABSOULTELY HORRIBLE PLACE TO LIVE. To keep it very brief, I was a tenant there in 2012. I am still so angry with this place that I decided to write a review almost 2 years later when I saw their ad online. I had a 1/1apartment for $615 per month. I found out I was pregnant while living there, and I ended up breaking my lease. I am a property manager myself, so yes, I realize this was a mistake on my part. This was not the problem though. They submitted me to collections for FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS because they claimed I had a pet that soiled all over the carpet, I left furniture in the apartment after I left, and ended up EVICTING me because I did not turn the key in. Let me state that I DO NOT (NOR HAVE I EVER) owned a pet. I lived there with my boyfriend. We had NO pets. We also took ALL of our furniture...hence the breaking of the lease. We moved to a bigger apartment for our expanding family. Lastly, WE LEFT THE APARTMENT. Breaking your lease means LEAVING. I do not understand why they believed they could evict a tenant from an empty apartment. They key was left in the mailbox. I called Jutta at Baytree and asked what was going on when I began to receive harassing phone calls from "Profe$$ional Debt Collectors" (yes, that is literally the business name) and Jutta said she refused to talk to me. I asked what the hell was going on, because they were accusing me of having a pet that ruined their apartment, being evicted, etc. She stated that they had pictures of everything and that I would need to talk to the Duval county sheriff. I asked her to go ahead and forward me the pictures along with a SERVED copy of an eviction notice, as an eviction is NOT legal without these begin provided. She hung up on me. I PRAY THAT NO ONE DECIDES TO LIVE HERE. Rent is cheap and everything, but the management is absolute scum. As I said, I myself and in property management and we could NEVER "evict" a tenant that breaks a lease. It is illegal. These people are disgusting.
Absolutely the most horrifying experience in my life. There's cockroach problems, too many issues with the outside and inside of the apartments to list. I've had an ongoing problem with my air conditioner for 4 months now with no fix. My electricity bills are going over $200 for a 2 bedroom apartment which is absolutely insane. The maintenance supervisor is rude, has a huge temper and is not to be trusted. He nearly ran over one of the leasers with his truck because he was upset that he had settled an issue with her rugs that they tore up from removing her vanity, offered sexual favors to a few woman to fix their apartment, slammed my front door open which intern put a huge dent in my wall. We were lied to and omitted information before we moved in. There's a night club across the street that they forgot to mention. The washers and dryers don't work half the time. The office manager needs to learn proper business etiquette's. My apartment is only $699 a month but after everything's said and done I might as well have rented from a newer luxury apartment for $800 to $900 a month. Would've equaled out to what I'm paying now and wouldn't have all the stress, heartache, headaches, and sleepless nights. Not to mention I have medical issue's and have medical equipment I can't use in 90 to 100 degree weather. Please don't rent from here, if you do don't say I didn't warn you.
