The rent totals about $1500 a month for me. The floorplan is the bigger one and it's a pretty great apartment and the garage is an additional $75 per month. The garage is big enough for my car and motorcycle to fit in, plus some toolboxes and such. The pros: there fun amenities. The heater maintenance guy came out on the same day I called to fix my heater (though for some reason he used my bath towel to take a shower I'm pretty sure) The cons: the owner Griffis Blessing has an effective way of maximizing their profits while simultaneously minimizing courtesy to and respect for the tenants who live here. A list: 1. They do not shovel the snow off of the sidewalks. As I am recovering from a recent knee surgery I cannot safely navigate the sidewalks: It is dangerous for me to live here. But on the especially snowy days, that doesn't even matter because: 2. They do not plow the parking lots or the feeder roads in a timely manner. When they are plowed, it is done by a teenager who puts just about the same effort into his job that you would expect. The snow removal service is a joke, but that's okay because Griffis Blessing will pay for the ice buildup when they re-pave the lots again. 3. The default method of informing a resident of a rent problem is a BANG BANG BANG on your door and a nasty note with a red "EVICTION" notice. I've lived here more than a year now with no problems with paying the rent in a timely manner. There was a communication error with my roommate and each of us thought that the other person was going to log into the rent website and pay each of our halves of the rent with our corresponding accounts. Well I never got a phone call or a polite knock at my door saying "hey you guys haven't paid your rent, could we see what happened here?" The default human interaction was very rude and inconsiderate and of the assumption that the residents are complete jackasses, which we are not. (I did get this problem resolved and the fee waived.) 4. This one is my favorite: there's a rule that the pool closes at 10PM because of pool noise. Except that rule hardly matters, because the security that Griffis Blessing offers is also a joke. I was in the hot tub enjoying some conversation with some other residents when we realized that it was about 11PM, much later than the closing time. "Well that's stupendous!" we thought. "They are trusting that we will respect the nearby residents by being quiet." Except then a man wearing a Griffis Blessing shirt shows up and informs us that the security crew is "having problems" and by that he meant that "our security guy is piss drunk and he can't do his job, so here I am in the middle of the night wearing my blue polo and tan slacks hating my life." The security guy did show up moments later, piss drunk and likely to pass out before he could usher all of us young professional troublemakers out of our own pool. If the security guy isn't even ready for duty to kick people out of the pool, then how is he ready for duty to make sure we aren't being burgled? 5. The washer/dryers in all the units are from the early 90s and are useless: my neighbors, friends, and I all have to put clothes through the dryer multiple times before they are dry. 6. All of the lights in the units are incandescent, so expect your electric bill to be higher than you'd like. I went to Costco and bought some 9.5W LEDs, installed those, and my bill went down. 7. All of the bathtub installations in the place make it sound like you're taking a shower in the wooden creaky underbelly of the Black Pearl. 8. If you even SLIGHTLY burn your food while cooking, the FOUR fire alarms in your kitchen/living room will sing you the song of their people.
Liked living there. Maintenance was on time and office was always courteous. Amenities are great too! We lived next to a busy street so it was loud time to time so I'd suggest living in the middle of the community.
This place used to be fantastic. They changed management (to Griffis Blessing) and everything is awful now. They're neglecting the facilities (gym/hot tub). They lost my roommate's addendum application. They don't unlock the dog park room. They served our rent invoice two weeks late & miscalculated it. When we went in to talk about it, they were unhelpful and disrespectful. Straight up bad customer service. :(
I loved the time i spent here. The apartments are nice and roomy. Great floor plans. Maintenance are quick and friendly. They shovel the parking lot pretty quickly after snowing. They have a lot of fun events for their residents. The neighbors are nice. The only problem i can see is that during the winter people dont really pick up after their pets. but once the snow melts away they maintenance are pretty quick at cleaning it up.
