I'm about six months in to my twelve-month lease and have been very happy so far. The apartments are only about 4 years old, so no weird smells or broken down appliances. The community seems to have a nice mix of residents and I don't generally have issues with rowdy neighbors or anything - the occasional loud truck, maybe, but nothing terrible. I've had no maintenance issues at all. Packages are put into a package locker by USPS so I don't have to leave work early to make sure I get to the office on time to get my packages. The location is a bit removed, but I really enjoy that. I can access the bus easily, which I ride downtown to get to work, I can walk over to Walmart when I need a quick item or two, and it's right on the Billy Wolff trail, which is beautiful. The apartment itself has nice features. It's a much different feel than any of my other apartments. Rates aren't outrageous for the quality, either. I'm not sure how much my rent will increase if/when I renew my lease, so I haven't decided if I'm going to stay, but if rent remains reasonably in my budget, I'd happily stay. I haven't had a lot of dealings directly with the leasing office staff, but when I moved in it was Memorial Day weekend, and they allowed me to move in a day early due to the holiday, which I thought was nice. I've never had an issue with them not receiving/processing rent checks in a timely manner, and the couple times I've called/emailed with questions about various things, they responded pretty promptly. I'd recommend this complex to a friend.
This residence does not even deserve one star. It is by far one of the worst places i have lived in, the property management are incompetent and lazy. The office hours vary everyday Mon-Fri is supposed to be 9am to 5pm they come in around 10 or 12 sometimes they do not even come in at all. Calling the office good luck with that! They never answer the phone i have call history showing how many times i call I leave multiple voice mails and i never get a return call, I have went so far as leaving voice mails on the emergency maintenance line hoping they would return a call. First issue was with ants coming through the windows and doors, pest control is part of a monthly fee but clearly that is not followed through. Second issue mice, not one mouse, not two mice but 6 mice in my apartment alone one neighbor had 4, another had 2 and that is not including other residents. All of our homes are kept neat and clean it was an issue with management saying it only happened with one apartment but it was more like the whole building and there are still mice in the apartments as of today. Third issue spiders, huge large spiders that bite i have called multiple times for pest control to come and spray the apartment for the spiders they are everywhere. The pest control is an issue because improper installation of windows, doors and dryer vents. My front door is clearly gaped at the bottom so when it rains, snows or any other weather worms, crickets, spiders and even mice come trough the doors.Fourth issue DO NOT I REPEAT DON NOT get packages delivered to the office they will steal or lose your mail we have not determined which one they have done due to the amount of our package. They do not check to see if they received the packages they are signing for the office just signs for a large group and that is it. They do not check ID's like they are supposed to, it says in the statement you sign with your lease that when a package is picked up an ID is to be shown. I personally believe the rental agreement is ambiguous in nature the office is not liable if there was a fire, floor or robbery but in this case they should be held accountable due to incompetency and not having accountability. I move out at the end of the month and feel sorry for any current or recently new residence.
This place is absolutely ridiculous and a joke by far. Be better at customer service. Be better at following your own practices and procedure. Be better when hard working retired military veterans come to you with an issue as a tenant - that could have been avoided. Be better property managers because this is where I have called home. Put yourself in my shoes for one minute and give me the benefit of the doubt as I did in not assuming your office is negligent and would contribute to a situation that has a nearly $1,000 price tag for me. I am sure this isn't the first time this has happened. I will be in contact with James Baumann and follow up and through as I see fit.
I would not recommend this apartment complex to anyone. Worst management I have ever seen! Everything is made cheaply and continuously breaks. You have to repeadtly call for weeks to get any fixed before it actually gets acknowledged and fixed. The office never opens on time and never has answers to your questions. I have been told numerous times " i will let maintenance know" and then weeks go by without any sight of maintence! Every time is rains or apartment get flooded and has ruined all the floor paneling. Maintence has "fixed" the problem multiple times but still continues to happen. Definitely WAY to expensive for what you get! Once our lease is up we will be leaving! Everyone around us is having the same issues so I know it is not just us.
When I first moved here, it was awesome! I knew the management and they were very respectful and always on top of things! I am now moving out a year later due to a long commute, but also due to the lack of response to their tenets. I would email them to ask them a question about rent or a general question and wouldn't get a response for days. I would stop in the office, but half of the time the door was locked and no one was there. There was also some break in into cars, which was never addressed by the management; even though the cops knocked on my door at 2 am, and the criminal tried to break into my car, twice. The neighbors are nice and polite and the apartments are great! I just wouldn't recommend this place at the time.
