Telegraph Crossing is not an honest and fair rental property group. They have taken advantage of an individual by adding extensive and unjustifiable charges at time of lease termination. I am assisting my sister with the review of her additional fees/charges in the amount of $595 exceeding the owed rental responsibility. When my husband called to inquire about these "damage fees" here is what we learned: 1) There was not a clearly defined list of expectations provided at time of lease entry or provided at time of leave notice (please clean is very subjective and did not come along with an outline of potential fees). 2) The fees are really cleaning fees as there was zero damage able to be demonstrated. 3) We requested pictures to demonstrate proof of the "damage" (wanted to ensure we saw what they were claiming as "damage" before jumping to conclusions) and while we received pictures for review this is what I clearly saw a) a left over bagel box in the freezer and a bottle of cleaner on top of fridge; b) an empty food box that fell between wall and side of the refrigerator; c) an ashtray (yes I agree gross), a dish cloth, a Gatorade bottle and juice bottle on the counter; d) the stove top burner pan did have caked on grime as did the oven door; e) the carpet had track marks; and f) there was a small chair left behind. In summary, yes my sister should have been more responsible in terms of picking up the remaining empty boxes and items on the counter top and perhaps cleaned the burner pans and oven. However, these do not justify the extent of the "damage fees" (again no damage just cleaning) to the tune of $595 (if so I'm in the wrong business if they are paying a cleaning crew in that amount for what would have taken me 15 minutes to pick up and 90 minutes to clean - I would have made more than $300 per hour)! These additional fees were never a part of the lease agreement, nor outlined and provided 30 days prior to exit. A very big surprise upon receipt of final bill. When calling to better understand they stuck to their "ability to charge". Yes they did work with my sister in terms of a few late payments and over that course of her lease therefore should be responsible for the $75 late charge (she is a single low income individual). However, to take advantage of her at the exit of her lease is very concerning. I highly recommend choosing a more professional lease management group as the integrity and business ethics of this group is extremely disappointing and in my opinion concerning to future tenants. My intent with this review is to provide public awareness and transparency to anyone considering this lease management group. Unfortunately seems consistent with the other reviews. It can be very difficult to find an apartment that offers a convenient location, reasonable rent, a professional, prompt and efficient maintenance staff and a great leasing staff as well. Joyce and Erin are very pleasant to interact with and John and David are a great maintenance team. The complex is on a busline,, has a great pool in the back so it is quiet: nice areas to walk around with your pet if you have one, I really like my apartment layout....good size closets, linen closet, good size patio and private entrances. Updated kitchen and a nice bathroom. My neighbors are very nice to live next to. Stores are within walking distance if you do not have a car: Dierbergs, Schnucks, Dollar Tree, Hallmark etc. Just a nice place to live all around. Easy access to I 55 but not too close so you can hear lousy traffic noise. If you are looking for an apartment come and check it out. A very happy occupant.
I agree with David. Telegraph Crossing is money hungry. According to the apartment guides they lowered their rent for the one bedrooms to an little over 400 a month, yet residents like me still pay 535 per month. If Im not mistaken, it is illegal to make certain residents pay different prices than other residents. The apartments are small and there is no workout facility on site. They tack on charges for everything. I can't wait to move.
There money hungry. They tack on fees every chance they get. And maintenance is a joke. I can't wait for my lease to be up.
Money Hungry...Started tacking on charges for everything!! Everyone I know is moving this month. We wouldnt let them lock us into another year lease, so the charges began and we paid. Cant wait to move!
