I really love this place! I have been living here for over two years and am about to renew my lease for a third time. Every apartment comes with a full-sized fridge, a dishwasher, microwave, and central AC, plus its a five minute walk away from the red line. The complex itself has two pools, a 24 hour gym that has equipment in great shape, a concierge service and even a package retrieval service that bypasses having to wait for a concierge to find your your mail. The best thing about this place is definitely the staff!! Every single time I have needed help or to fix an appliance they have helped out. Residents are pretty cool too. Overall I've had a great experience here.

I've bee in the building for two years and recently renewed my lease just a couple days ago with The Gale. I was a little nervous when it was taken over by JBG (naturally) as change can be a good or a bad thing, a big 50/50. and of course the transitional period in a big community like this can take a little time to get things right. Considering that, this change in my experience has been a good one. Que at the front desk is super nice and always welcoming. The culture that John and his team has brought has been much better than before. I enjoy the community events, hh, movie screenings, and food tastings from local restaurants etc that The Gale team puts together. Its a great way to bond, enjoy great food, and of course help local business'. I highly recommend The Gale, it's a great value, great amenities and understanding and personable staff.

I have loved living here for the last 2 years. JBG is a great management company and the building reflects it. The front desk staff is so helpful and friendly. Dontrell & Que (concierge) always have big smiles on their faces and know how to answer your questions or at least point you in the right direction. A maintenance request is quickly responded to, usually within the hour and never longer than a day. The building is well maintained and has beautiful common areas that are a treat for residents. They commonly hold events for residents with local vendors so you really do feel cared for. Online rent payment is easy, utilities clearly explained, and the management office is super responsive to inquiries. I love the secure package system they recently installed, it makes picking up deliveries a breeze. I am relocating out of state or I'd be here for another year at least. I have made friends in the building and with the staff, and it is hard to leave! Even now, as I end my lease with this property, I am well informed and the management office has gone above and beyond to make it an easy transition for me. I highly recommend living here!

The only reason I am giving it 2 stars is because the location is amazing and the property is nice. The Trilogy was purchased by a new company a few months ago and became "The Gale." Here's the thing, the new company fired all of the old employees and no one in the office has a clue what's going on. It's been the worst few months. No one follows through with anything. I've seen 1 person in the office on a Saturday! I told one of my girlfriends about the property and she called/left a message and sent an email. No one ever responded to her apartment inquiry. There are plenty of available units, but the staff doesn't even care enough to return calls/emails. That's a clue into the level of service you will experience as a resident. I had an issue and the manager was supposed to follow up and I haven't heard anything. They came and asked us how we were enjoying the new management last year and asked if we had any problems. I told them I wanted to rent a storage unit and the guy told me it would be weeks before he got back with me. Yo mean it's gonna take weeks to take more money from me? And he didn't follow through...Dontrelle is really nice. I'm not exactly sure why he doesn't run the entire office. He's the only person you can depend on in the building...he should be a manager!

If you have lived in the DC metro area for some time, you understand that price point in the city are inflating per minute. The Gale Eckington is conveniently located at the peaking point of New York Avenue, walking distance from the metro rail, provides ample parking, and elegant living at a price point that can not be matched anywhere in the city. Affordable luxury is second nature here and home to many friendly residents. I have lived at this complex for 2 years, thus I have seen the exchange from companies, new management, leasing consultants, and concierge. The management team is amazing, accommodating, and quick to address any concerns. Some of the best and new added perks include: Package Concierge, scheduled updates of Uber and Metro, the dog park, and resident events. The lobby areas, gym, and pool site are amongst the best in the area. I have never had to complain about my neighbors, nor have they complained about me. This pet friendly community is worth the move, if not for anything else, I would especially for the price! I might add that John, Travis, Que, Dontrell, Ingmar, and Indira all work diligently at accommodating me. I really appreciate the professional and friendly service they provide.
