Do you love not having parking? Getting your car broken into? Do you live for the inconvenience of construction and repair early in the morning? Avid mold fan? Love stepping in dog shit? Then this is the place for you! Since having moved in this summer we have had many problems ranging from having one of our cars broken into and having the other one rear ended while it was parked at night, to our washer and dryers not washing or drying, mold, and constant maintenance issues. Yes, the majority of the maintenance issue were fixed, (and continue to be fixed as they spring up), but the apartments are cheaply built and not worth what you pay for. The walls are paper thin, so you have a pretty good idea of what your neighbors are up to. It's not all bad though, theres a vague sense of community as we all play "musical chairs" for parking spots every evening and you share a couple laughs with your neighbors when you both catch each other wandering the space around your balcony to try and get cell phone reception. We cannot wait till our lease is up and we can find someplace, any place else to live. Would NOT recommend!!!!
The apartment layout was nice, worked well. If you live here pray to God you never have to make a work order request, because whatever you have that is broken will stay that way for a very long time. Management is really bad super unorganized and not with it at all, seems like everything you try to becomes a giant hassle/ They can't even handle simple tasks. The pool is too small for the size of the complex and appliances need to be updated. wasted a year here...
When we first moved in we told them one of our kitchen lights was burnt out they never fixed it honestly we forgot about it until like 10 months later. The light that was burnt out had made a burn mark in the celling! We called and told them it was a fire hazard and needed to be attended to they painted over the burn they didn't re-wire or do anything other than cover the burn. So we stopped using the main kitchen light and used the small one above the sink for the remainder of our lease.
It was deceptively okay when I first checked it out and decided to rent there, but after 6 months living there, I needed a place that allows large dogs and there are few of those in the area I wanted. Pros: Location was great. Allowed large dogs. Maintenance guy, Nathan, was great. Cons: Not built with sound barrier in mind. Very noisy. The grounds near my apt were water logged. It was like a swamp off my patio and if you stepped in the ground you sank. They have serious drainage issues they need to address. I had an issue with moisture under some rugs which were ruined by mold. Condensation built up whenever it was cold and ruined whatever I put on the floor. The office staff are very sweet but they don't seem to have a handle on things. I was told I would be renting a garage right outside my apartment. When I was moving in, they were scrambling to find me one as there were none near me. I ended up with a garage clear on the other side of the complex!! Also, they never answer their phone and half the time they are not available in the office. Parking sucks. If you don't pay for one of their covered spots or a garage forget about parking near you place. Why not provide enough parking for everyone and not charge for it. So, plan on a nice hike back and forth to your car if you don't buy a space. Insurance requirement. Who knew apt complexes are asking for this nowadays. I guess they need it with all the potential water damage that can occur through no fault of the tenant. Cell service black hole. You will need to get a land line here. And as a lovely parting gift, they did not give me my entire security deposit back in spite of the fact I damaged nothing and spent 2 days cleaning the place! The office person did a walk through with me and said it looked good. Go figure.
Pro's: Good location, good layout of apartment, nice pool and property area. Con's: Old windows with a lot of mold that is extremely hard to take care of, not enough parking, very unorganized management. Also, this place allows smoking, I couldn't let my son be outside on the balcony because someone from neighbors was always smoking. Another thing apartments are pets friendly, which was tough for us because we had an infant, and dog barking constantly woke him up... So, if I would look for apartments again I would not consider going back to Meadows because for us there are more cons than pros for us, but for others specially someone who smokes or owns pets that could be nice place to live.
