The Marshall is great on the surface and I truly have loved having my own room and bathroom as a part of the 4 bed 4.5 townhouse. Having a washer and dryer in the unit is also amazing. The amenities are also very nice, although I don't use them as much as I thought I would. I have also enjoyed the tempurpedic mattresses and not having to worry about furniture as a college student. Perhaps the biggest plus is the location. It's a fifteen minute walk from the center of campus and, best of all, right on top of Target Express. There are also plenty of places to eat right around it and a liquor store just steps away. Living here has been really convenient, that is for sure. That being said, the price is absolutely ridiculous for the quality. For instance, the paint on my bedroom wall now has colored streaks on it where my folders brushed it as I was putting them in my backpack. The lease doesn't even get you through the year. I understand they have to turn the building around for new tenants, but it's not realistic for people to be homeless for three weeks until your new lease starts at the beginning of September. The lease ends a little over a week into August. Additionally, the staff is really friendly in person, but ultimately are not on your side. If there is an issue, they will say they'll get it figured out, but that simply doesn't happen. Finally, as much as they claim it isn't a party apartment building "like Floco," that is a lie. Every weekend, without fail, there is trash throughout the building. Cans in the stairwells, bottles in the shrubbery outside, and even fallen pizza in the hallways. The good news on that front is that they do a fairly decent job of making sure it gets cleaned up. Only a few times has something sat for an extended period of time. Long story short, The Marshall is a great place to stay if you don't mind the price and just want something conveniently located that is furnished. My personal recommendation would be to pass this up and avoid living here. The luxury apartments that have popped up around campus have driven the prices of renting through the roof for really poor quality apartments. You can do better.
The Marshall has been a great place to live. The CA's are always helpful and the rooms are great sizes. Some of my friends live here also and it gives us the fun feelings of the dorms but without the restrictions. Highly recommend it!
I have lived at Sydney Hall, The Bridges, and also of course the dorms, to say the least, all of those have been a disappointment! Now, the Marshall on the other hand, is FANTASTIC! I love visiting my friends here at the U, just because they live at this awesome place, the pool, gym, and TANNING BEDS are my favorite!
The Marshall offers very nice apartments along with a very friendly staff but I am a little disappointed in how the dirty the hallways and common areas are. It doesn't have to be spotless, but it could definitely use more frequent cleaning.
Ever since I moved in to the Marshall, I have had nothing but a great experience! The office staff is always willing to help out with whatever I need. The location can't be beat and the amenities, especially the gym and work out area, are incredible!
