Rental application for ABQ Uptown Village includes running your full credit history, your criminal history, your personal history on the Terrorist Watchlist (none) and the Sex Offender Registry (none) among many, many others. After they are finished completely invading your privacy who are they selling this data to? I used to be cleared for the White House. Who are these guys? People this suspicious are usually up to something. I applied elsewhere, was approved in an hour and moved in the same day. Guess I wasn't "white" enough for ABQ Uptown Village. It would be interesting to see of management would pass these tests. Perhaps someone should look them up on the Ashley Madison database.
Terrible management! The credit background check cost more than anywhere else I've gone, $79, and the admin fees and deposit to hold won't be refunded back to you for 3-4 weeks by way of paper check!!!! When i applied they emphasized that I'd be refunded that portion if i don't get the place for whatever reason and they made it seem like no big deal as if they credit back the debit card i used but thats not the case at all! Without asking, they'll mail the check to your previous address!! I found this out a week later when i didn't see the credit on my card, and she said, "oh, they don't mail checks until Friday anyways so I'll call and redirect it." Well that was last Friday, 7 days ago and still no check so I guess they need more than the one weeks heads up to send it that Friday, so this friday is two weeks and maybe theyll get around to it! I moved here from LA and it's been very expensive to move and get a place, so I could really use that money!
I have a Room with a View, feel safe, I live close to parks to take my service dog on outings, and maintenance is exceptional in responding. - 4 stars
ABQ Uptown Village was a great place to live until 2010 when the privately managed facility was sold to Alliance. Since then the personal touches and friendly staff, with the exception of Jennah, have vanished. Fob access though the gated complex was replaced with keys. You no longer have the luxury of enjoying a glass of wine by the pool or outdoor gas fireplace in the late hours because the pool is now locked up promptly at 10pm. No longer are the staff friendly and helpful, they are short and unfriendly. What was once encouraged to be a close knit social complex has now been replaced with many restrictions on residents. The lease agreement went from half a dozen pages to a couple dozen pages. At one point you could justify paying what you were paying for rent because of all the amazing benefits, but those amazing benefits have been taken away from the residents at ABQ Uptown Village. It is very unfortunate.
