1st, I've been living here for about a year and now can't wait to leave. I'm on a 14 month lease and now I'm breaking my lease. At first, I didn't have a problem with my apartment, everything seem about right. The neighbors were quiet. Which was the good part. After getting settled in, I received my first OUC bill and it was over $350 and ever month after that it's about the same. I'm never home since my fiancé and I work at a family business. We leave the house in the morning and then turn up the ac and when we come home around 12-1 am, that's when I turn down the ac. I work 12 hours shifts everyday and repeated my routine when I leave the house, I turn it up to 80 degrees, the bill was still over $300. I then went on a vacation to New York for about 2 weeks. Having the ac turned off for that time. Thinking maybe the bill will lower. When I received the bill for that month. The bill went down to $250 which was still over the price. I called OUC and they told me to notified my landlord and have someone investigate. I called once but a solution was never fixed. Maybe a neighbor is hooked to my electricity? I don't know and will never find out. I just gave up on that subject. 2nd, let me tell you... There's tiny sugar ants everywhere. I don't have food out but they are still everywhere in the kitchen. They disappeared during the winter and when spring comes, that's when they start coming back. This place is also invested with cockroaches. Here and there when I come home, I would find a big one just laying there in the hallway. Disgusting 3rd, every other month, I would find a lizard in my living room. This week, I have dealt with two of them. I understand it's getting to summer so maybe they want to find a spot to cool down. I'm not sure how they are getting in. I made sure that all the windows are sealed tight and also the balcony door. Still don't know how they are getting in.. It's frustrating since I just want to come home in peace but have to deal with all these little critters in my apartment all the time. 4th, parking sucks! Coming home late from work and not finding a parking, it's just my luck. I'm used it by now since I've been doing it for a year now. At first when I signed the lease, they inform me that it's a first come first serve and that each apartment is up to 1 car. I don't think they are actually going around and looking. I have a neighbor that has 4 cars, some of his cars are just sitting there collecting webs. Other apartment complexes that are not assigned parking usually charge for the second car, etc. it just sucks because most of the time the cars that are parked doesn't even live here. 5th, at first when you move, everything is going to probably look decent. After 6 months of living there, things started to fall apart. They literally just re-glue everything. The glue that is attaching the bathtub and the wall is cracking and falling apart. The dishwasher doesn't even work. Everything is just so old. It just looks like all they did was paint over it. My bathroom sink is falling apart, the inside of the sink is decaying, bits and bits of the sink is falling apart from the overflowing drain hole. They just repaint over things that are rusty. I honestly can't wait to get out. At first, I wasn't thinking and I just wanted to get a cheap place and now I'm suffering the consequences. Now I've learned my lessons and found a great place downtown, triple the price but in all honesty, everything is new and for sure won't fall apart like this hell hole. So don't think that because this place is cheap and you want to have extra money, that this would be the place for you. No it's not! get your self a nice place. In the end it's where you're sleeping and calling a place home.
If I could give this complex 0 stars I would. We have had roaches from the start, they claimed it was pest free. Pest control doesn't do anything as Massey never shows up, even when you request it. We had water damage from our upstairs neighbors and it broke our ceiling, they caulked it and just stuck it back up there. Our carpet was soaked and maintenance was supposed to come by and soak up the water, but never did. They tell you water and sewer will be a select amount and then charge you more. This community doesn't care about their residents, all they want is your money and to charge you for unnecessary things. Do not rent from here!!!
Worst place I ever lived, never ever again will I ever move there. Way too many roaches, noisy people, thin walls, nasty inside the apartments, management suck horribly, they never fix anything right, and they charge for dumb stuff once you move out!!
I got a 2 bedroom 2 bath . It was suppose to be 669.00 monthly . When i got my first bill it was 715.00 . I called and asked why ...i got charged for water about 6 bucks ... trash and sewer which was about 41.00 bucks . I was never told that i would be charged for sewer and trash monthly . We barely use water , but we get charged not per apartment but they split the bill with the whole apartment complex . I budgeted for 669.... just to see every month my bill went up a few bucks here and there . Laundry machines over will charge your credit card /debit ...sometimes it charged twice . The laundry area always dirty . Trash dump area ALWAYS dirty ...trash always on the ground in front . It's nasty . The outside of the apartments are run down ...it looks like crap . They do not clean hallways ..which you can see weed bags...black and mild wrappers along with other trash around . In the apartments they spray paint the bath tub , sinks , walls . Which starts to chip /peel after a couple of weeks . bathroom smelled of mold/mildew...i called maintenance and was told there wasn't any smell . The toilet leaks and the bathroom water smelled like mold ...i couldn't use that water ...had to use bottle . Again, they said nothing was wrong with the water . The dishwasher was broken ... water spilling all over . Screen door fell off.... and neighbors are noisy . The apartment complex just is trashy and ghetto. I had to move out asap .... couldn't take it anymore . It was depressing driving up to that place . The pictures you see on line are old . I guess u pay for what you get . I moved quickly . Please don't waste your time with this place . Oh and they will screw you on your deposit also ..i cleaned and gave a termination fee of 1336 and they still tried to take my deposit . RUN !!!!!!
OPD: Man shot to death in Village Park Apartments Thursday 12/31/15 Orlando Sentinel! This place will make up reasons to overcharge you on your rent and force you to pay late fees! I have never been late for rent and on the holiday weekend I did not even know how much rent I owed and they charged me $100 late fee for no reason other than stealing my money. They said they would have to refund everyone else their money too but they dont want too! So much for safe and affordable housing!
