I lived here for a year. I was counting the days untill my lease was up. Some of the outlets didn't work. Every time I turned on my microwave it threw the breaker for the kitchen. They tried to tell me my microwave was too powerfull but I have used it in every other apartment I've been in and it didn't do that. When my roomate turned on the shower in his bathroom it sounded like an air horn going off. When I moved out there were 2 different people sleeping in there cars in our parking lot. This was the worst apartment I've ever lived in. I don't recomend it.

The first month I fell through my balcony and nothing was done. Management was really unprofessional and pushy. Since lease was one year I hated living there but couldn't what for lease to be over to move out.

Writing reviews for places really isn't my thing but after I saw the nasty reviews on here about this place, I wanted to add my two cents in. I've lived at Woodlake for about two years now with my girlfriend and I've enjoyed it quite a bit. Nadine was the person that helped me out when I got here and she was so sweet, I got a cavity from just touring with her. She's gone now to do her own thing and her replacements (Cody and Mikayla) have been nothing but nice. I generally keep to myself but every time I go down there, I am greeted with happy faces and they help me with what I need. I went down there to have someone fix something in my apartment and within a day or two, the maintenance team came in and fixed it while I was at work! Like sneaky little repair ninjas. As for the place itself, it is old as hell and it's nice to see them doing something about it. The new guard rails for my balcony and paint job for my building look sharp. It's weird to see what my downstairs have on their patio since they took our the barriers there but it gives me a reason to wave at them when I walk up. My apartment itself looks a ton better since the renovation. Was all this inconvenient? Yeah at sometimes but its nice to see them not let the place get run down. One thing I love about this place the most is the location. I am a terrible car owner and as a result, I haven't had one for a few years. With the Totem Lake Transit Center and Kingsgate Park and Ride, I haven't need them. It's about a 10 to 15 minute walk and they have buses that go everywhere I need. Walking to the store can be a bit of a trek but my butt needs the exercise. This place has its cons like the entry sometimes turning into a swamp and parking getting a bit crowded but all in all, I like living here. Its a great location, good apartment at an amazing price!

I have lived here for about a year and a half now, and would not recommend this place to anyone. When we first moved in, the office staff were great, but since then they have left. There is an issue with communication and basic kindness with some of the current staff. We have had some very unpleasant interactions with some of the staff regarding legitimate issues like garbage/recycling recepticals being constantly overflowed, the immense pest control problem inside and outside of our apartment, etc. One of the previous high rating reviews was written by an office staff member (Cody) who lives here and then replied to by the manager (Kevin), his boss. It is also the same review he wrote on yelp, after he started working here. A year ago, even before the remodeling, I would have given Woodlake a great review. But now, I would not recommend this complex to anyone due to the lack of maintenance, customer service, and the increase in prices that are nowhere near the worth of living here.

Normally I don't write reviews, and I wasn't going to in this case either. However, as I was looking for the email address to email the apartment complex about yet another problem I've been having, I noticed the most recent five star review by Cody Neilson, which absolutely infuriated me… He works in the front office. The only competent person working at this apartment complex moved out of state in February. This complex has gnats everywhere in the summer months. Clouds of them. There is a terrible spider problem as well. The "pond" is a smelly swamp. The recycle and garbage bins are constantly overflowing with trash. I live on my own and take it out about once a week… every time, I have to maneuver my trash into the receptacle. About a month ago, one of their carports fell on top of my car on a Friday evening around 430 due to someone hitting it. I was told by the office manager that he was trying to get a forklift out, if he couldn't get one that day it would be Sunday or Monday at the latest. Meanwhile, the firemen are there, balling up the rotten wood of the carport in their hands. My downstairs neighbor, Patrick, expressed his concern in parking under a neighboring carport due to the rot and explained that about a year ago another carport had fallen due to rot in bad weather. To this, CODY NEILSON the five star reviewer replies "I don't blame you." I received no phone call from anyone all weekend and had to walk to the front office Monday evening to get an answer. Tuesday morning, FINALLY, they were able to get my car out. That day, they were supposed to call my mother and let her know when the forklift would be there so she could drive my car out. It was supposed to be there by 11. At 130 PM, my mom drove to the complex to see that the carport had been removed from my car, so she left. A little while later, the woman working the front office called her and tried to play like the forklift people had just left. When she explained she had already been up there, the lady changed her tune and apologized for the delay in calling. After that Friday, seemed like the apartment manager was avoiding me like the plague. Over that weekend, I stepped out only to have my foot go through the soggy mess that they call a deck. They replaced the deck in a timely manner, probably only because I would have been seriously injured if they hadn't. That next week I was due to have a live in renovation done. They started charging me increased rent for the renovation when I signed my lease in February. They started renovations April 20th. I was told I would be getting all new flooring and all new appliances. Come the end of the renovation, I have used and absolutely FILTHY appliances, they only replaced half the flooring (I had literally joked in the past about them sawing the carpeting and only replacing half of it. Not so funny anymore.) I was also under the impression I would be getting a new washer and dryer, but was told that was not included in the "new" appliances. I had to fight in order to get a new one, because my current is probably the first stackable ever made. There is literally a hole burning in the back of it. I was supposed to be getting that new washer and dryer the next week after the renovation, but still have the same old fire hazard. Thats what I was emailing about this morning when I found Cody's review and had to write one of my own. Every time I see someone drive into this complex with a Uhaul ready to move in, I pity them. Seriously. I am kicking myself for signing another lease. I can't wait to get out of here. Mind you this is coming from an ACTUAL tenant that DOES NOT work at the complex. Yes, this complex is "newly" renovated but with cheap flooring and used appliances. The same rent you would pay here would get you a much better deal at a different complex… Even if it's just not dealing with clearly "quick, polite, and helpful" staff! Right. Please do yourself a favor and DO NOT MOVE HERE!!!
