My current roommate is moving out this summer as he is starting grad school in the fall, and I'm looking for someone to fill the vacancy. The building is in Midtown East, very near restaurants, bars, gyms, grocery stores, and public transport.

Rent is $1,400 all-in (includes cable, internet, utilities). The rental period is from June 15, 2012-May 31, 2013 (sorry, not early move ins). One month rent deposit is required. Payments would be due the 1st of each month so June would be prorated and cost $700.

The apartment is in a pre-war building with a 24 hour doorman. There is laundry in the basement.

The bedroom is actually the old living room that was converted to a bedroom. The space is the size of a small studio and can acoomdate a queen size bed, couch, wardrobe, desk, with room to spare. Everyone that sees the place is amazed at it's size, especially in NYC!

I'm looking for a laid back, young professional, M or F, clean, non-smoker who pays their bills on time.

I'm laid back, easy to get along with, grew up out west, have traveled fairly extensively (hit all the continents but Antarctica). I enjoy food, drinks, sports, etc.

I know how frustrating looking for rooms in the city can be. Most of the places I say two years ago wouldn't have passed for a closet out west! I've been in this apartment for two years and think it is a great space and conveniently located. I will be around this weekend to show the room and hope to have someone locked in by next Friday (June 1) for a June 15 move in.
