So, my roommate bailed on me, on my birthday, no less, which means I need to find someone fast. I'm hopefully going to sign the lease on an adorable place right on Smith St. in Carroll Gardens (I spoke with the agent today and it's still available), but the owners want to meet both roommates first. The apartment is $2400 total, and has two equally sized bedrooms with closets and a living room with another closet. The kitchen is kind of an open/galley style and the bathroom has a full bathtub.

I'm female, in my late 20s, and work in nonprofit communications and advocacy. I'm politically progressive and passionate about what I do. I'm friendly and outgoing, but not big on partying or clubbing; frankly, I'd rather go out for dinner or brunch and hang out with friends. I'm looking for a roommate around my age give or take with whom I have something in common, even if we don't end up as best friends.

In addition to meeting any potential tenants, the landlord requires good credit and that you make at least 40x the yearly rent. If not, they only accept in-state guarantors. Unfortunately, they don't allow pets.

This is for a 6/1 move in. I'm moving from a 1br in Manhattan and will be bringing living room furniture, dishes, cookware, etc.

I'll be around this weekend to get coffee and see if we think we'd work as roommates.
