Michele K Kreinheder: Best park in Long Beach, hands down! Play areas for the younger and older sets. Pony league field gives it an All-American feel. Well-used basketball courts. Large picnic area. Recreation building has bathroom. The city recently expanded the parking lot which unfortunately has taken a large chunk of recreation area but the good news is there is plenty of parking. There is a light at the cross-walk but watch for unaware drivers speeding to the light on Bellflower.

It has replaced Bristol Farms, also a grocery store, that Walkscore has incorrectly categorized has a coffee shop. Lazy Acres has the best ice cream - try McConnell's out of Santa Barbara
