My husband & I moved into Stuy Town in September with our small dog, and we're all loving it so far! The apartments are spacious, the grounds are beautiful, and there are some nice perks like a farmer's market every Sunday. We love how dog-friendly Stuy Town is, and how we can give our pup a good walk just around the grounds alone, without ever having to cross streets or fight the NYC crowds. It's true that there are fences around most green areas, but there are still some bushes, trees and grassy patches that are left exposed, which is more than you can say for most of Manhattan. There are also a couple of great dog parks very close by for when you want to give your dog some off-leash exercise. Our apartment is right off First Ave, but faces East toward the interior of the complex and is very quiet. We see trees out our windows, and sunlight pours in during the morning hours. Stuy Town truly is like an oasis in Manhattan - so peaceful, without the rush of the city, yet steps from amazing restaurants, bars and shopping. It feels very safe too - I feel completely comfortable walking our dog alone at night, and I often run into several other people out with their dogs for that last walk before bedtime. The sense of community and neighborly feel is also unlike anywhere else in Manhattan. Most people on our floor have lived here for more than 20 years, and people around the complex have been very friendly, welcoming and helpful. Our apartment was renovated right before we moved in, and it looks great and very modern, with stainless steel appliances and dark ebony floors. There have been some things that have gone wrong, which is surprising since everything is new, but the Welcome Center was extremely helpful during our first month here, fixing any problems very quickly. Now that we're in the queue with the masses, things take a little longer; but at least it's easy to submit maintenance requests through the online resident portal, and they'll do anything from replace lights that go out to snake the shower drain. We were referred to Stuy Town by friends who live here, and we would definitely recommend it as a great and unique place to live in Manhattan. We're very happy that we chose to live here, and could see ourselves living here for a long time!
I just moved here in September and and absolutely loving the community so far. It's very easy and livable and well maintained. Also very happy about my friendly neighbors. Love this interactive website. - 5 stars
it is lovely to live here. the staff is friendly and helpful. lovely neightbors. it is safe. but where i live is a little bit far away from subway station. and winter is coming, it will make transportations a little miserable. and rent is a little bit high comparing to my saving and income.
LOVE IT! I am so happy I have moved here. I recommend Stuyvesant to everyone. In fact sometimes I even go see the apts for my friends that are relocating to NY! yes, I am like an agent! I just want all my friends to live here! :)
So far I have had a fantastic experience in StuyTown. The leasing office was extremely helpful, and informative. The apartment itself is phenomenal, and is by far the best bang for your buck. I also initially did not appreciate how nice and quiet the community is, and how many amenities there are. Maintenance and Rent is easy to handle online. My one recommendation would be to upgrade the entryways of the building and the halls, only have the elevators padded for people's specific moving days and make an effort to enhance the mixture of smells in the building.
