Animal Ark Thrift & Pet Store
Karen Krueger: Thrift shopping can be fun, but can you imagine how fun it could be if you could take your dog for a walk and stop in WITH your dog? Animal Ark allows you to shop with your pet and raises money for pet adoptions. Plus, the variety is great and prices are better than most! #Daytons Bluff

Hamms Park
Karen Krueger: Daytons Bluff was once home to Hamm's Brewery. The brewery building now stands abandoned, but is the subject of urban renewal in the next few years. This random corner of garden is named after the brewery. When sitting on the bench, one can observe a few of the now restored Victorian homes - three the many architectural gems of Saint Paul #Daytons Bluff
Indian Mounds Park
Karen Krueger: The hills, or mounds, seen at this park are actually ancient burial grounds of American Indians who had passed through this area long ago. The scenery is beautiful as you walk, run, or bike the paths in this park, so it is no wonder this was chosen as a final resting place for many. In the background, a beacon keeps watch for the Saint Paul airport as well. #Daytons Bluff
Swede Hollow Cafe
Karen Krueger: This incredible coffee shop and cafe isn't open much past lunch - in terms of hours, they are quality not quantity. Named for the park nearby, making it easy to grab your grilled cheese to go and take it to the park for an outdoor lunch. Dayton's Bluff has been home to many ethnic groups, but for a long part of Saint Paul's history, this portion of the neighborhood was called "Swede Hollow." #Daytons Bluff

Nina's Coffee Cafe
Karen Krueger: Nina's (pronounced like the number 9-a) is a great place to grab a cup of coffee. The shop is usually packed so they recommend being adventurous and sharing bigger tables with others and being neighborly. If there really isn't enough room, head downstairs to the bonus bookstore in the basement! #Summit-University

Highland Park Water Tower
Karen Krueger: The Highland Water Tower is on the National Register of Historic Places. It was designed by Clarence W. Wigington, notably the nation's first African American municipal architect. Wigington also designed many of the schools in the city of Saint Paul. The water tower also has an observation deck which is opened to the general public about once per year. #Highland
Buco di Beppo
Carbones Pizza
Karen Krueger: Carbone's is a pizza like no other. The original Carbone's started in downtown St. Paul and has grown to include countless other locations throughout Minnesota and Wisconsin. The oldies like the Randolph location offer no big thrills aside from the piping hot thin crust brick oven pizza all the neighborhood kids grew up on. #Highland

Ward 6 Food & Drink
Karen Krueger: The Payne-Phalen area has had better luck with keeping their landmarks than some neighborhoods. This new bar/restaurant breathed life into a pre-prohibition bar (built in the 1880s). The beautiful original bar is the focal point, but the labor of love to rehabilitate this building is apparent as well. This is definitely worth checking out! #Payne-Phalen
Romolo's Pizza
Phalen Beach House
Karen Krueger: Once inside Phalen Regional Park, this beach offers a sandy swimming beach with lifeguards, restrooms, and other great amenities. Rent bikes or tandem bikes or take to the water with a canoe, kayak, or paddleboat rental. A pedestrian and bike path encircles Lake Phalen with the circuit totaling 3.125 miles. #Payne-Phalen
Phalen Recreation Center
Karen Krueger: The Phalen Recreation Center is one of Saint Paul's many recreation facilities. This beautiful example features many programs for the whole family year round and is home to outdoor baseball fields, basketball courts, playgrounds, and even an ice hockey rink in the winter. #Payne-Phalen
