Tower Bell. Not sure why this is here, but it is. Tower hall is nearby thus maybe that is why. I know a bell goes off every hour but this isn't a working bell.
On San Jose State University Campus. During the Medals Ceremony at '68 Olympics, Tommie Smith and John Carlos gave the Black Panther salute. Yep, that got them in trouble.
Entrance to Union Building on campus of SJSU. Inside you will find food court, bowling center, chairs, a piano, and sounds that never escape. You can hear everybody in this building. Nice place with acoustics that don't fit well with its purpose.
Not sure why this are up. Maybe the work of art students at SJSU? I like how the painting really liven up the wall. Saves me from just seeing a blue wall.
Nice sandwich place. I love their soda machine. They don't post their hours thus your guess is as good as mine. There is an outdoor patio on the side. Enter through the store to access it.
Great little tea place. Milk teas are very popular here but I actually like getting just hot tea here. Very popular place with SJSU students. Has wifi but doesn't seem to work for me.
Here is the light rail train leaving the station. Not any faster than a car but you don't have to drive. $2.00 for 2 hours on the train, $6.00 for all day pass gives you all day use of VTA light rail and buses too.
This light rail goes south from here (2nd street). Goes south toward Santa Teresa or Winchester stops. If you want to travel north on light rail you must go to 1st street where there is a stop.
Painting on a wall. Actually there are many of these on doors in the area. Artwork done by local high school students. Unfortunately this one was tagged by vandalism.
Nice Starbucks with new outdoor patio. Staff is very friendly. Right next to the San Antonio VTA light rail stop. Great place to watch people and birds.
Great place to watch movies. $7.50 for matinees. $10.50 regular admission and $5.00 for shows before noon (somewhat rare) Very nice staff and sometimes a nice man comes out dressed up in very nice outfits.
Every first Friday of the month, the artistic community around 1st Street come together to celebrate. Galleries open up to display great art. Art on the street is showcased as well. And live music as well. At night.
Back entrance to Martin Luther King Jr. Library. Normals hours for non-students are M-F 8am-9pm sat 9am-6pm sun 1pm-7pm. SJSU students can stay longer Sun-Thursday.
Photograph out of the window on top floor of MLK Library. Tall building is City hall which is only a few blocks from MLK Library. Nice views from the library on higher floor. MLK has eight floors. huge library.
Nice fountain in City View Plaza. Very quiet and understated fountain but still beautiful. Once in awhile the bike riders and skateboarder will do tricks in this area.
Located in the City View Plaza. Has ATMs on the other side. Bank of America is nearby also. Plaza is nice and quiet. Located on corner of Market and San Fernando.
Sign for City View Plaza. Across the street from Chavez Park. Mainly office buildings and has Specialty's Cafe. Wells Fargo bank with ATM is in this area and Bank of America.
Very large cafe/bakery with outdoor seating. Catering to business people as is open Monday through Friday and closes around 6pm. I really like their breakfast sandwiches.
Interesting abstract work of art in City View Plaza. This is a nice quiet area near some office buildings and Specialty's Cafe. The Tech Museum is the orange building in the background.
