Alex Steffen: We're vehemently agreeing about BART itself, actually. I am super-pro-transit. What I think is terrible is the PARKING LOT. That's what the problem is, in my opinion. The parking lot is not walkable, and makes the area around it less walkable, and thus less transit-friendly.
Alex Steffen: Dangerous crossing. Needs crosswalk paint + sign, perhaps stoplight.
Alex Steffen: Though a clearly-striped crosswalk, drivers rarely stop for pedestrians and often exceed safe speeds.
Alex Steffen: Presents an unattractive parking lot fence to the sidewalk across from the park on the bike boulevard on Milvia. Some landscaping and a better fence would really improve the block (and maybe make it a better place to go to work).
Alex Steffen: Dangerous. Crosswalk light duration too short for even a fit person walking briskly to cross in time allowed. Result is, many people hurrying across in front of cars: an accident waiting to happen. Needs a much longer crossing time.
