Angie Good: Holy Spirit Parish was canonically established on July 15, 1981, the feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, by Archbishop Ignatius Strecker. Father Robert Pflumm was appointed its founding Pastor. Property for the building of the initial parish church and school was donated to the Archdiocese by the Mrs. Elizabeth Brulez and her son Isadore. Isadore maintains the original family home and a portion of their original property just west of the church. #oakpark

Angie Good: Linda Vista (Spanish for "Pretty View") is a community in San Diego. It lies on a mesa overlooking Mission Valley. It is also home to the University of San Diego. Many of the homes in Linda Vista were built in 1940 as part of a government project to house aircraft workers for the war effort. Linda Vista was home of the very first mall-type shopping center in the United States, which was dedicated by Eleanor Roosevelt. It included a movie theater. There was an old Linda Vista established in 1886 approximately 6 miles north of the current Linda Vista. However, it ceased to exist after it was heavily damaged by the 1916 flood.
Tecolote Canyon Natural Park
Angie Good: Tecolote Canyon Natural Park & Nature Center offers its visitors a variety of educational and recreational opportunities. The Canyon has approximately 6.5 miles of trails that can be used for jogging walking and mountain biking. Also available to visitors is the newly constructed Nature Center which offers a host of exhibits on the animal and plant life of the Canyon. The Nature Center is also available for meetings, workshops, classes and special events.

Angie Good: Bay Ho is a prosperous area. The poverty rate is a good bit below average for the San Diego area. Because Bay Ho is very spread out, you won't find it very walkable. Plan on having a car to get around. Public transit is essentially non-existent in Bay Ho. You will need to drive a short distance or ride public transit to reach the nearest beach.
