Leesylvania State Park
Ann WJ White: Leesylvania State Park is just off of Rt 1 in Woodbridge, VA. It's a lovely place to hike with trails of different difficulties. They have rangers and interpreters that provide services including history and natural science topics. They have birthday parties, classes on any interest you might have. The park borders the Potomac River and has several beaches, although swimming is forbidden due to unsafe conditions. There is a lovely fishing pier, pond walk, and harbor for sail and motorboats. Security is quietly apparent. The park is used by many different populations and ages. Summer provides a place for the Junior Rangers to learn and grow.
