Holiday Inn Historical Marker
Erica Scott: The original Holiday Inn chain of hotels was founded in 1952 in Memphis. The founder wanted to provide inexpensive lodging for families that were traveling. He built the first Holiday Inn in September 1952. Although the building is no longer there, a historical marker is located near the original site. This is in the #Berclair #Highland #Heights area of Memphis.
Tops Bar-B-Q, 4183 Summer Avenue, Memphis, TN
Erica Scott: This neighborhood institution is one of the best BBQ stops in Memphis. The coleslaw is amazing and baked beans are some of the best I've ever tasted. The barbeque is shredded with sauce on the side, and it's delicious! Service is fast and friendly and their drink sizes are generous. #Berclair #Highland #Heights
Municipal Park
Davies Manor Plantation
Erica Scott: This defining experience transports you to another time. Davies Manor is located in #Berclair #Highland #Heights and the plantation has the oldest log home in Shelby County. It's open to the public with thirty-two acres of plantation land, numerous outbuildings ranging from a tenant cabin to a commissary to a gristmill to an outhouse. There are also several gardens including a kitchen garden and a medicinal herb garden. It's a great place for weddings and other events.
Billiard Pro Shop
Erica Scott: Highland Heights is the quintessential suburban experience. In #Berclair #Highland #Heights you will find beautiful homes and quaint streets lined with lamp poles and beautifully paved neighborhoods. Most errands can be accomplished on Highway 64 where you will find shopping, churches and childcare. Specialty shops like Billiard Pro Shop make this community a nice place to shop. Billiard Pro shops has everything from pool tables and lighting to specialty pool cues and accessories. It's the perfect place to outfit your "mancave".
Autozone
Erica Scott: I listed Autozone because the staff here is excellent. They are very knowledgeable and I've been in a couple of times when they weren't terribly busy and they helped me install tail lights and replace my car battery (saving me from a trip to the mechanic). They typically have anything I need for car maintenance in stock. This Autozone is located on Highway 64 in #Berclair #Highland #Heights.
Highland Heights Presbyterian Church
Erica Scott: Highland Heights Presbyterian Church is a gorgeous church that sits at the top of a hill in #Berclair #Highland #Heights. They offer Pre K and day care. The church has two worship services (the first is at 8:30 a.m. and the second is at 11:00 a.m.). They have an excellent youth group and the congregation is welcoming to visitors and new members.
Morning Grove Road Church
Erica Scott: This neighborhood institution sits atop a hill on Morning Grove Road. It is a Missionary Baptist Church that was started in the 1875 as a brush arbor where people worshiped under trees and sat on stumps. The Church is located near Berryhill and Grove Rd. and there is an adjacent cemetery. It's located in the #Berclair #Highland Heights area.
Eagle Brier Lane
Erica Scott: Eagle Brier Lane is a typical neighborhood in this area of #Berclair #Highland Heights. The homes are large and arranged in cul-de-sacs which seems to eliminate a lot of through traffic. This is definitely a nice neighborhood to walk in with safe, spacious streets and minimum street traffic.
Morning Wood Lane
Erica Scott: Morning Wood Lane is located in #Berclair #Highland Heights. The power and phone lines are underground and the streets are lined with quaint lamp posts instead of unsightly utility lines. The homes are large and provide an excellent escape from the city while maintaining the convenience.

Richard & Annette Bloch Cancer Survivors Park
Erica Scott: "Cancer.. There's Hope" is a huge street sculpture at the Cancer Survivor's Park. The five figures in the back represents the cancer patients preparing to enter treatment; the maze they must navigate; and joy at the other side. The faces of the figures show the emotions cancer draws out. #Colonial #Yorkshire #East Memphis

Erica Scott: A forged steel, bronze, copper and aluminum butterfly representing the inspiring metamorphosis of the butterfly. Hidden in the surrounding grass are butterfly eggs abs caterpillars. The artist suggests that the same potential for transformation is found in all of us. #colonial #Yorkshire #East Memphis
Diane's Art and Gifts
Erica Scott: Diane's is located in the heart of the Evergreen Historic District in midtown Memphis and housed in a two-story Masonic Temple built in 1928. Midtown Memphis is considered one of the best walkable neighborhoods in the mid-south; featuring great shops, restaurants, art galleries, theatres, and museums. #citizenssouthwest #citizens #southwest #midtown
Merck & Co Inc.
Erica Scott: This neighborhood institution employs a diverse group of people in Memphis. They are a research laboratory working to develop new therapies that treat and prevent disease. The surrounding area is just as diverse. If you head east on Jackson Avenue, you will walk into a commercial area with a few local restaurants and a strip mall. The homes and apartments to the east of Merck are in a poverty stricken neighborhood. If you head west you will find a quaint historic district.
