Behind the Convention Center lay wide streets and Laney College. The area outside of the convention center is under construction, but will soon be beautiful walkable areas.
It's always important to keep in mind that the neighborhood is separated from the lake by a steady flow of traffic throughout the day. Remember to look both ways crossing the street to the lovely parks and shores!
Just across the narrow part of the unique saltwater tidal lake lies a boat rental facility for the days when you want to enjoy a ride on a peddleboat, rowboat, kayak, etc
The great Fenton's Creamery. Offering the best ice creams and sundaes before and after its fire that shut it down for a while a few years back. This location was also featured in Pixar's film "Up"
Just a quick look at the sidewalk and storefronts on Piedmont ave. Most small strips of stores have great details making them all individual and unique.
This cluster of palm trees has existed since before I was born. They always offer a twist in the scenery when driving towards Piedmont ave down the hill from Pleasant Valley ave. The gas station in front of it is also a great carwash!
This restaurant is one of the best Chinese eateries in the area! Some personal suggestions include their Mu Shu plates, Chow Fun, and Won Ton Soups. Also conveniently located next to a great cycle shop!
A beautiful church with a wonderful outdoor seating area perfect for sunny days and nighttime airings of classic films across the street from the famous Fenton's Creamery.
One of my favorite streets to bop around on, Piedmont Ave is full of excellent restaurants, magnificent coffee shops, and many unique and individually owned shops and grocers.
