Every Thing Goes Book Cafe and Neighborhood Stage
Kathleen Patricia Odenthal: Located in #Tompkinsville Staten Island is a quaint little cafe on Bay Street.The neighborhood hosts a number of live music and art venues, including Everything Goes Book Café, Deep Tanks Studio, Coyle Cavern, Ink Chyx Tattoo & Art Gallery, and the LGBT Center, all of which take part in the north shore's monthly Second Saturday art walk.

Sheepshead Bay Public Library
Kathleen Patricia Odenthal: #SheepsheadBay Branch opened in 1903 after residents raised $200 as a contribution for maintenance. Located in a community named for a large saltwater fish found along the Atlantic coast, the library moved in 1925 to a Jerome Avenue and in 1952 to a new building on East 14th Street. The current 4,000 square-foot branch, at the same site, opened in 1963.
Space-Time Playground
Kathleen Patricia Odenthal: Space Time Playground is located in the #Soundview section of the Bronx. The playground was renovated in 1996-97 under a $592,000 Parks capital project funded by Bronx Councilmember Lucy Cruz. New features include wood and steel play equipment, asphalt and concrete pavement, fencing, basketball courts, game tables, spray showers and plantbeds.
Emerald Playground
Kathleen Patricia Odenthal: Emerald Playground’s name was inspired by its location on Jewel Avenue. The roadway was given its name because streets north of what is now Queens Boulevard were at one time given names in alphabetical order. Jewel Avenue, formerly known as Jewel Street, ran next to Kelvin Road, now 69th Road, which ran through a swamp in Flushing, over a stone bridge, and into Kew Gardens Hills. #Pomonok, Queens
Captain Tilly Park
Kathleen Patricia Odenthal: Captain Tilly Park Highland Ave., 85 Ave. bet. 165 St. and Chapin Pkwy. Queens Directions via Google Maps This text is part of Parks’ Historical Signs Project and can be found posted within the park. Captain George H. Tilly Park is located in #JamaicaHills Queens. Named for a local son of a prominent Jamaica family who was killed while fighting in the American subjugation of the Philippines in 1899, the park has a beautiful pond right in the center.
Bryan Park
Kathleen Patricia Odenthal: Located in the #Fordham section of the Bronx, this park honors New York veteran John Fraser Bryan. It features a sitting area with benches, a three-banner flagpole with a yardarm, and a planting area surrounded by a cobblestone retaining wall. Local residents use the sitting area to wait for the bus on the Fordham Road side of the park.
