#TheHeights district of Jersey City is broken up into a fairly plain and easy to follow grid. Houses and residential areas fill almost 90% of the town with the exception of three main roads that all run parallel to each other, Palisade Avenue, JFK Boulevard and Central Avenue. Besides from the residential homes and the shopping district, you can also find a wealth of abandoned buildings, graffiti and decay.

The houses in #TheHeights in Jersey City or typically apartment style homes, or two or three family homes that date back to the 1950s. Most of this section of Jersey City is residential, and the community is fairly close-knit.

Street art is prominent throughout #TheHeights in Jersey City. This chalk mural on the sidewalk in Riverview Fiske Park was done by a local artist as a live perspective of the view of Manhattan from that place in the park. Jersey City has a very active arts community, both inside and outside.
