Please don't tell the other great Charlotte breweries, but Birdsong is my favorite. Great industrial/casual setting with really good beer and peanuts.
Atherton Mills Farmer's Market. A true farmer's market where local organic farmers from Dairy and meet to vegetables and fruit present their beautiful and healthy wares.
One, and possible only independent movie theatre in town. Shows first run indie movies, sells popcorn, beer and wine in a beautiful classic theatre.
Pinkey's is a great locally owned restaurant. Great cheese burgers and great beer, and just fun. In the fabulous neighborhood of Wesley Heights.

Cassee Cunningham: Not a bar, just a place for beer connoisseur's. If you like to taste and discuss fine beer like you would wine or cigars. This is your place. Locally owned, of course.
