Have been living here almost 2 years and am set to renew my lease for a second time which I really don't want to do and won't if I can arrange a different rental home. When first moving in here, it was great. The prices where good for the area and space. Pegasus whom was managing at the time was an awesome company and their representatives were professional and had it together. However, Residential Resource took over managing the property and they have been just horrible. From day one, they never had it together and didn't (and still don't) know what's going on and can't answer questions they should know. They've served me a noticed to vacate when I paid rent on time and in full, because someone can't read or file money orders correctly. When I went to address the discrepancy I was given a reason that many people did not write their apartment numbers on their forms of payment, but mine had my apartment number clearly typed/printed on there and all they could say was that they didn't know why it happened. They never altered me that there was a preferred employer discount and that I qualified. So, for a good period of time I was paying full price when I should have received a discount and would not/could not reimburse me for their mess up. For over 6 months, I've been given incorrect amounts for rent and then told that I need to get it together instead of calling to ask, but the problem was they keep giving me various amounts printed out for rent on notices or when I called to inquire if it was correct since it differed from the amount stated on my lease. Management gave my late fee payment a couple months ago to apartment's 901 account instead of applying it to my account and then when I called to figure out what happened to my money, management explained to me that my significant other said he was from apartment 901... He and I both know what apartment we live in (800 building) and make it known what apartment we live in when dropping off a payment and have it printed on all our money orders at the bank which we usually pay with. The pool has been closed for cleaning on days it should not be per the apartments pool hours. The office on several occasions has not been opened on time and management goes missing closing the office for hours. This happened today, during the last day to pay rent before incurring late fees. Management doesn't like to answer the phone either when they are there and not busy with tenants or potential renters looking to sign a lease or view an apartment. The apartments are outdated and cheaply constructed. Popcorn ceiling, no overhead lighting, light switches that go to no where & working light switches that make shorting out noises , crappy sliding glass doors that won't open, roach infestation problems, bad plumbing that leads to your sinks leaking bc pipes are poorly fitted and not sealed, front doors that were "upgraded" and replaced that do not fit properly and allow bugs & air in/ ac & heat to escape, etc. A lot of the lower level apartments get flooded when it rains heavily and to other tenants whom this happened to while living in a bottom unit, say that management is trying to blame them for the water damage occurring due to the apartments being situated to where they are partially underground with no retaining walls. The community laundry mat is just awful the washers are just tiny and old (they do not fit a standard load of laundry) and the dryers don't work at all. Every time you dry clothes there, expect for the dryers to eat your money without turning on at all or without drying your clothing and you have to guess which one will work (the bottom one on right is usually the only sure bet). People let their dogs poop everywhere and don't pick it up. Definitely not the place to live if you to live nicely, deal with professional management, and have a good experience. BOTTOM LINE: MANAGEMENT IS CLUELESS AND NOT VERY HUMBLE AND MANY MANY CURRENT TENANTS AGREE WITH ME WHEN I SPEAK TO THEM AND ASK ABOUT THE FEELINGS AND EXPERIENCES.
Maybe I'll write a more positive review in a few months, but right now, I'm more frustrated about the ant infestation that has taken over my shower and kitchen only a week after I've moved in. The state of my unit at move-in was pretty sub par as well: lots of little fixes to be noted (cabinets hanging off, bars and shelves of the fridge missing, door frames ripped to the point of not closing), that have yet to be fixed, despite having held the lease for a full month at this point.
My boyfriend and I moved in a one bedroom, one bath on March 1, 2015 so far we are in love with the place. The staff has been amazing and very helpful, the community is great, it is nice and quiet. There are alot of people walking their dogs and are really friendly which I love! The property is clean and I love that we can have our own parking space... it's so convenient!!! Also, I had a maintence issue at 10:30pm and the maintence man showed up very quickly and was very pleasant!!! We don't plan on moving for a while... well maybe into the Garden floor plan but that will be it!
