I have lived here for two years, and I have found it to be safe, and generally quiet. The inside of my apartment is lovely and I really like my patio. I like the granite countertops, and I rarely have to wait to use one of the washers and dryers. Problems have been promptly fixed, like the one time my upstairs neighbors accidentally overflowed their tub and we got a leak in the ceiling. Rain or shine, day or night, if your lift stops working (which has happened 3 times in 2.5 years) they will run out and fix it for you. The office people are nice, and fair. Our dog passed away a few months ago, and they were very sweet about it, and let us stop paying pet rent. They have been courteous and helpful, even the time our car was towed (because we didn't follow the rules I admit it), they went the extra mile and stayed late at work to help us get it back that night. It is indeed family housing, and we have a kid, our upstairs neighbors have kids, our sideways neighbors have kids, so if you're complaining about kids in the pool, well, that's a place kids go. If you don't want to be around kids, go to the club. We have a few little boys who run around and play and are very polite and call people "sir" and ma'am." It's pretty cute. I haven't seen any drug deals, though one day our of 2.5 years I've seen what looked like a clique of young men strolling around the parking lot. I've never seen them again.
Been living here for 6 months. Reading some of the reviews, wow. I'm not sure if there was a major change since 2010 but the 'drug deals' do not happen. Maybe that's because they've fired the previous security company. Current company does rounds hourly and can be seen regularly -- not sleeping in his truck (as they did the first month I lived here). They have re-done the apartments with granite counter tops and stainless fixtures, faux-wood-flooring and tiled bathrooms (not laminate). I had a list of items to be fixed before moving in an they were all addressed. As stated, parking is a pain for visitors. The lifts were just serviced (in 3 rounds) in June through July. Most all are in good working order and I haven't seen one fail since March 2011. They've gotten pretty good about guest passes. DO NOT let your guests park on the street leading to the driveway. Guaranteed to get a door ding/keyed/bumped front and rear - maybe all at once. Not the fault of the complex, but inconvenient if your guests cannot find a spot. There is luckily the structure across the street that is free parking as well. They advertise that there is a cardio-room. It is, in fact, nearly exclusively a cardio room. You are lucky if the 1 weight machine in there hasn't been butchered for parts or tampered with by careless residents. New treadmills have been put in as of April, new TVs and a set of elliptical machines. No real complaints about this place. I've lived in better but for the price and comparing to what else is available, it is hard to beat in Costa Mesa/Santa Ana unless you want a house. Pools are cleaned regularly, security IS present and polite to residents, management does a decent job (now doing community events in the complex) and the pet-friendly part is a plus. Be realistic when you want [affordable] apartment living. There will be shared parking, there will be shared laundry rooms and yes occasionally your neighbors may be higher on the volume level than you - but that is to be expected. If you don't want to deal with it then you can find a house ($$$) to buy or rent from 3400 Avenue of the Arts and pay nearly $3200 a month for near-perfection. Welcome to rental living.
DO NOT MOVE HERE if Belen is still working here. She is running a scam with "Pepe's" Towing in Santa Ana and has TENANTS cars towed illegally so she can get a kick back from them. Complaints have been made to AMC directly, all the way to the top. There have been talks of petitions to get her fired due to her unprofessional and rude approach to EVERYTHING. No one knows why she is still at Park Plaza. She is probably running a scam on AMC just like she is running with the creepy tow company in Santa Ana. DO NOT MOVE HERE IF SHE IS STILL WORKING HERE. IF YOU CALL TO LOOK AT APARTMENTS ASK IF SHE IS STILL WITH THE COMPANY - IF SHE IS - RUN!
everything seems great until the second you move in. The walls or so thin you can hear everyone! I can't even walk to the laundry room without kids running around unattended. You can't layout by the pool without kids splashing water, WHEREVER YOU GO! The jacuzzi is just a tub for kids and their toys. The security guards are so rude and don't care what happen to you. NEVER ANY GUEST PARKING! IF YOU INTEND TO MOVE HERE THEN EXPECT NO VISITORS EVER! Parking is very sketchy even as a tenant, there are mechanical lifts that are 40% productive. Plenty of times I've been late to work because the lifts 'broke' and maintenance takes their time to fix stuff. Everything is terrible here, DON'T DO IT! ONLY GOOD THING IS THAT THEY'RE VERY DOG FRIENDLY, but I'd rather pay the extra 300 and live in irvine. BY THEYRE TOW HAPPY HERE...
*** Like it ** Love it** I lived here for 6 months and have never had any issues. Maybe becuse its just four of us.Oh! with our dog. Our dog loves it too. All i can honestly say is people that are bitter will always take the time to be negative. After reading the below reviews they sound racist and pretty bitter. I find it hard to believe that they didnt realized that aparment living is sharing walls parking laundry rooms and common areas with others. If you dont like any of that .. I suggest you buy a house in the middle of no where or in a hill. kisses
