Listening to my sister in law on the phone with the manager (April) is very rude! Watch out... she threatened my nephew and brother in law that they will evict them. They signed the contract yesterday and gave the key. If I'm looking for an apt I will not choose this place.
The staff that welcomed us displayed the not so welcoming behavior...
As at least one other reviewer has mentioned the excellent staff, and I agree - they are the only thing keeping this place together. The office and maintenance staff are friendly, courteous and helpful, but that's where the positive feedback ends. To spare you a huge paragraph of ranting, I'll summarize our Summerwind woes in a list: Backed up washer drainpipe (never resolved - bubbles up when the upstairs neighbors run their washer) Filthy and poorly lit parking garage (somebody urinates in our parking space EVERY DAY) Drivers who park in others' assigned spaces or stop in the middle of the garage, blocking spaces and traffic Overflowing dumpsters with no regulation of trash vs. recyclables Sketchy elevators with that lovely Drugs & Bodily Fluids odor Absent and unresponsive security Vandalized vehicles (missing lug nuts, damage to motorcycle ignition in attempt to steal, stolen luggage/items off motorcycle) Stolen motorcycle (yep, they finally did it) Stolen license plate of other motorcycle Neighbors' unit was broken and entered into; not much was stolen but let's just say personal belongings were violated and/or destroyed Disrespectful neighbors, especially upstairs (boisterous at all hours, loud and inconsiderate both inside and outside) Dirty pools with limited seasonal access Overcrowded parking lots and unsecured/unreliable street parking with poor lighting Inaccessibility to buildings from street parking (supposedly for safety but that obviously didn't stop our neighbors from being robbed or our motorcycle from rolling away) And after all this joyous excitement over the past year, they had the nerve to raise our rent and prohibit further month-to-month tenancy, though the office staff were able to allow us an extra month of month-to-month under the new, higher rate while we frantically searched for a new place to live - we being some of the only residents to follow rules and commonly accepted apartment etiquette, and to keep our apartment clean and habitable at any reasonable standard of hygiene. We're out!
I give this two stars because the staff are at least courteous and friendly. Otherwise the building itself is in shambles. My porch developed a large crack down the middle of it so i can't use it. I have NEVER in my 8 months here had consistent hot water. The other tenants are loud and there is no way beyond calling the police to deal with them and it does nothing! 1 hour later they are back to stomping around slamming doors and playing loud music. We didn't have any problem with bugs which was good. I guess that's what they get star one for. Tenants also typically have friends that will blow their car horns for hours rather than take the time to walk up and get their friends, This will happen at all times of night. Also you will be solicited constantly by people attempting to sell hot tamales, so come to expect the ring on the door bell to be a small girl selling you food.
This Apartment complex is the wrong place 2 live its filled with crime and infested pests. My cousin lived there and had to move out because he was robbed at gun point in front of his 2 small children. In addition of the rent being so high its a bad area and not worth the money you will spend
